Hester Schell, MFA (she/hers) is an award-winning director, veteran acting teacher, retired professor of film and theatre, and script writer focused on social good and environmental stewardship stories with roles for mature women and seniors. Schell is the author of the critically acclaimed volume, Casting Revealed: A Guide for Film Directors, now in its 2nd edition, with Routledge Press. Her column at Script Magazine focuses on acting and casting. She is the instigator of Hysterical Housewives, a stand-up training ground for women over 40 from 2003 to 2015 in the Bay Area.
