‘The Good Cop’ Review: Josh Groban Isn’t a Bad Cop or a Bad Actor, But He’s a Huge Problem in This Bland Netflix Comedy
Tony Danza and Josh Groban’s good cop/bad cop routine is busted, but not for the reasons you might think. For one, Danza is great as the corrupt detective kicked off the force in very public fashion. His Tony Sr. is a joke-teller, barroom crooner, and all-around man of the people; the kind of lovable wiseguy you would immediately forgive for any well-intentioned indiscretions… unless, that is, he’s your father. Tony Jr., or Tj (Groban), is the exact opposite of his dear ol’ dad — not that he’s unlovable; he just follows every rule, from specific points within the police code (he often cites others for “infractions”) to the implied but oft-violated social agreements like refusing to pick up an unclaimed quarter.

One guy is a beloved bad cop, the other is an ostracized good one. The odd couple setup is obvious, simple, and certainly solid enough to carry a crime-of-the-week procedural — or,

John Stamos And Bob Saget Made Our 'Full House' Dreams Come True With A Cute Insta Convo

When you're family, you're family. And though Bob Saget and John Stamos may not actually be brothers outside of Fuller House, there's still plenty of love between them. Throughout the years, they haven't just stayed in touch, they've stayed in each other's lives, hanging out and poking fun at each other in public. They've basically just been the best TV family anyone could ask for. And now they're continuing that trend with some adorable funny comments on each other's Instagrams. When Bob, 62, was promoting a comedy event he's doing in Portland over the coming weekend, he reposted the comedy club's Instagram — which meant he was sharing another picture of his headshot, which is his profile pic on Insta. "Portland!!!" he captioned the shot. And while John, 55, didn't clue fans in to whether or not he'd be showing up to give his support, he did have a little something else to say.

Rita Moreno, Bob Saget Celebrate Norman Lear’s 96th Birthday at Aarp TV for Grownups Honors
Norman Lear had two reasons to celebrate on Tuesday night — his upcoming 96th birthday on Friday, and his evening in the spotlight at Aarp’s first TV for Grownups Honors.

Lear, the famed producer behind “All in the Family,” “The Jeffersons” and most recently, the revived “One Day at a Time,” was the honoree at the Aarp event, which celebrated his revolutionary role in the industry, particularly for older audiences. Friend and “One Day at a Time” star Rita Moreno presented Lear with the award among friends and former colleagues including Bob Saget, Frances Fisher, Ed Begley Jr, John Amos, Adrienne Barbeau and host Wendie Malick.

“When people ask me how old do I feel, I always say I think of myself as the peer of whoever I’m talking to,” the producer said in his speech. “If you’re 26, I’m 26; if you’re 86, I’m 86; if you’re

Bobcat Goldthwait Says He ‘Probably Won’t’ Watch HBO’s Robin Williams Documentary
Bobcat Goldthwait enjoyed a long friendship with Robin Williams since they met at a comedy club kitchen in the 1980s up until Williams’ death in 2014. But Goldthwait has no current plans to watch HBO’s upcoming documentary about Williams’ life and career.

“I probably won’t watch the movie,” Goldthwait told Variety at Wednesday’s premiere of his new “Misfits & Monsters” anthology series. “Not out of protest — I just miss my friend, and I think it would be hard.”

The documentary, “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind,” features interviews with some of Williams’ closest friends and colleagues, including his longtime comedy partner Billy Crystal and his “Mork & Mindy” co-star Pam Dawber. But when the filmmakers asked Goldthwait to participate, he declined.

“I wish them all the luck on the movie,” Goldthwait said. “I kind of stayed away. Our relationship is very personal.”

Billy Crystal, Filmmakers Remember Robin Williams at ‘Come Inside My Mind’ Premiere

Billy Crystal, Filmmakers Remember Robin Williams at ‘Come Inside My Mind’ Premiere
David Steinberg, executive producer of “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind” and longtime manager to Williams, watched the legendary comedian perform countless shows over the years. But one memory that sticks out occurred while his client was on a United Service Organizations tour, where Williams performed standup for hundreds of wounded servicemen and women before personally greeting each of them.

“Someone who could do that can certainly mask some of what’s going on inside of him,” Steinberg told Variety.

On the red carpet for Wednesday’s premiere of HBO’s Williams documentary at the Tcl Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, filmmakers, actors and comedians shared their on-screen and off-screen memories of Williams, who died by suicide in 2014.

Though nearly four years have passed since Williams’ death, mental health has been a widely discussed topic in recent weeks following the suicides of fashion designer Kate Spade and cooking personality Anthony Bourdain.
