An A.I. System Goes Rogue in New Trailer For Katee Sackhoff's Sci-fi Thriller 2036 Origin Unknown

The first trailer has been released for a Katee Sackhoff's upcoming sci-fi thriller 2036 Origin Unknown. The story centers on a Mission Controller named Mackenzie Wilson who is assisting in an artificial intelligence system, called A.R.T.I., "to uncover a mysterious object under the surface of Mars that could change the future of our planet as we know it."

As you'll see, the A.I. system goes rogue and Sackhoff finds herself in an intensely nightmarish situation. The film comes from VFX designer and filmmaker Hasraf "HaZ" Dulull and even though I'm not completely sold on the movie, I'll still give it a shot. Watch the trailer for yourself and tell us what you think.

2036 Origin Unknown is set to be released on June 8, 2018.

First Trailer for Sci-Fi '2036 Origin Unknown' Starring Katee Sackhoff

"You're living in his world now." Gravitas Ventures has debuted the trailer for one of the sci-fi feature films from VFX designer and up-and-coming filmmaker Hasraf "HaZ" Dulull. This one is titled 2036 Origin Unknown, and it was made and completed before HaZ's other feature film The Beyond (watch the trailer for that), but is being released after. For 2036 Origin Unknown, HaZ cast sci-fi veteran Katee Sackhoff as Mission Controller Mackenzie Wilson. The plot follows her as she assists an artificial intelligence system, called A.R.T.I., to uncover a mysterious object under the surface of Mars that could change the future of our planet as we know it. This has some cool VFX and big space-y moments, but I'm still not completely sold on it. The main AI story seems a bit lackluster overall, but I might still give this a shot anyway. Fire it up below.

Amunet Black Adorns New Poster For The Flash

Each season, The CW likes to release a handful of posters promoting its most popular shows. Quite frankly, I think The Flash gets a little favoritism in that arena, but you can’t argue with the stunning results.

Not long ago, we were treated to an eye-catching piece that included Gypsy, which I assumed to be the final promotional one-sheet we’d receive for this season. As it turns out, I was wrong, because a new one recently dropped, this time splitting the focus between the Scarlet Speedster and Amunet Black.

To be honest, I can’t fault anyone for shining the spotlight on Katee Sackhoff’s character ahead of “Harry and the Harrisons,” given her rapport with the geek community. Already, we’ve seen a good amount of images circulating that are centered on her, which I felt to be a wise choice because the Council of Wells’ return

Producer Adi Shankar Wants to Fix ‘The Simpsons’ Apu Problem, Launches Spec Script Contest to Crowdsource a Cure

Producer Adi Shankar Wants to Fix ‘The Simpsons’ Apu Problem, Launches Spec Script Contest to Crowdsource a Cure
“‘The Simpsons’ is sick and this contest is crowdsourcing the cure.” That’s the pitch for producer Adi Shankar’s spec script competition, which he is launching today in an effort to find a solution to what has become known as the show’s “Apu Problem.” The long-running character, a convenience store owner voiced by Hank Azaria, has become a controversial figure because many believe him to be an inaccurate and hurtful portrayal of Indian Americans.

“Apu is not even a stereotype, that’s what everyone is missing out on,” said Shankar, who was born in India, in an interview with IndieWire. “The stereotype of Indians is we’re doctors, we’re smart people, leaders in tech, the CEO of Microsoft, CEO of Google. We’re high achievers and we are that because to immigrate here from India there were so many restrictions literally only the best of the best
