Pomodoro wants to mine that reality worldwide," is how Fitzgerald explained his rationale for the new venture.In addition to product in Beta's archive, Fitzgerald starts out with several other formatable series in his portfolio: the period drama Gran Hotel from Spain's Antena 3, the irreverent newsmag Caiga Quien Caiga from Eyeworks in Argentina, and the period laffer La Colonia from Mega in Chile."
TTV (US) April 12 2012, "MEGA TV Seeking New Entertainment Formats.With several premieres -such as Endemol's original format Yo soy, hit sitcom La Colonia, Doctor TV based on Sony's format The Dr. Oz, and telenovelas like The Queen of the South- the network has achieved excellent revenue and audience performances to look back on as 2011 ends.Some of the network's products like La Colonia stand out for being particularly profitable due to their cost structure. They even allow the company to show re-runs at midday and finally reinforce that slate. "It has much lower associated costs than a TV series," Franciso Henríquez, programming director at Mega TV, said. "It can also be shown at more than one TV slot, and from that point of view it is a great advantage," he added."

Variety (US) June 3 2001, by: variety staff, "Columbia TriStar Intl. Television and Television Nacional of Chile have agreed to their first co-production, "Bienvenidos a la Realidad," a made-for-TV movie to be shown in Chile. The 110-minute show will be written by Hernan Rodriguez of Chile and Josh Griffith of the U.S. TVN, one of Chile's leading terrestrial stations, is unique in being government-owned, independently financed and extremely adept at adopting top production standards."
