That said, the goodbye scene for one vet -- who has appeared on both cancelled series -- ending up on the cutting room floor. Before the final episode of “Girl Meets World” airs on Friday, stars Rowan Blanchard (Riley Matthews), Ben Savage (Cory Matthews) and Sabrina Carpenter (Maya Hart) and creator Michael Jacobs have a special message for followers of the “Boy Meets World” story.

In this exclusive featurette, which you can watch above, the team shares what the series has meant to them and discusses the important messages the series tackles. The cast has become a real family over the years, Carpenter says, and the bonds will last beyond the finale.

“We make a fun show about real issues. We do it in a fun, relatable way and I think people appreciate that,” Savage says in the video.

The show was canceled after three seasons earlier this month. A sequel to the ’90s hit “Boy Meets World,” “Girl Meets World” brought Cory and Topanga back together as parents of student Riley.

The cast of the ’90s ABC sitcom “Boy Meets World” reunited this week to film the Season 3 finale of its Disney Channel spin-off, “Girl Meets World.”

Girl Meets World” chronicles the lives of original characters Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) as they raise their kids Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Auggie (August Maturo) in New York City.

The Disney Channel has yet to release plot details for the season finale, but they did release this photo of the combined casts of both shows on Thursday. “Girl Meets World” writers tweeted that characters from “Boy Meets World” will help Riley with a major life decision. All we know about Eric’s return so far is that it happens in a Season 2 episode titled “Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels,” a nod to Eric’s future alter ego, Plays With Squirrels.

The cast of "Boy Meets World" is already reuniting for the upcoming "Girl Meets World" spinoff, but the stars of the '90s comedy also came together to be a part of "Good Morning America" and Entertainment Weekly's reunion week.

Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, Will Friedle, Lindsay Ridgeway, William Daniels  and the rest of the cast all reunited to look back at the show's legacy and also talk about its future. "I don't think any of us anticipated that after the show went off the air it was going to gain in popularity," Fishel admits.

Savage says that he believes the show remains popular because "the themes of the show are timeless." But while the former child stars have come to terms with their fame, Daniels says he still runs away when people call "Mr. Feeny!" after him.

Many of the actors from ABC's iconic '90s TV series gathered at the Atx Television Festival in Austin to chat about the epic romance between Cory and Topanga, Cory and Shawn's ultimate bromance and the "Girl Meets World" spinoff during a panel on Friday morning.

"Boy Meets World" cast members Ben Savage (Cory Matthews), Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter), Matthew Lawrence (Jack Hunter), Maitland Ward (Rachel McGuire), Betsy Randle (Amy Matthews), Lily Nicksay (young Morgan Matthews), Trina McGee (Angela Moore) and creator Michael Jacobs were all on hand to dish on what went into the beloved ABC series, which ran for seven seasons.

Little Morgan From 'Boy Meets World' Is All Grown Up (And Wants In On The Sequel)
Lily Nicksay might have been just five-years-old when she joined the cast of "Boy Meets World," but her character, Cory's (Ben Savage) little sister Morgan, quickly became a favorite. Rumors surfaced that the Disney Channel is planning a sequel series tentatively called "Girls Meets World" and Nicksay wants in.

TVLine first reported that the Disney Channel is in the beginning stages of developing a "Boy Meets World" sequel." The new show will center around Riley, the preteen daughter of Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel). Savage and Fishel are allegedly in talks to reprise their roles.

TMZ caught up with Nicksay to see if she'd want to join the "Boy Meets World" family again.

"I'd love to talk [to Disney] about being a part of it," the actress, now 24 years old, told TMZ. She is reportedly very excited about the Disney sequel, but revealed that she has not been approached by the network yet.
