In 1993, Dave was one of the original writers on NBC's Late Night With Conan O'BrienTwo years later he took a job at Walt Disney Feature Animation on the movie Tarzan. While there he met with a little-known animation called Pixar who hired him to help develop their second feature, A Bug's Life.
For the next six years he wrote on almost every Disney/Pixar animated movie in production. Including writing the screenplay for The Emperor's New Groove as well as co-writing Finding Nemo. He was nominated for an Oscar and BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay for Nemo as well as a BAFTA for New Groove.
He and New Groove director Mark Dindal have just completed The Garfield Movie, to be released May 24, 2024.
