Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling called out Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson for “[using] their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors.”
On Wednesday, when a social media user wrote to Rowling, “Just waiting for Dan and Emma to give you a very public apology … safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them” for their previous support of trans rights, Rowling responded, “Not safe, I’m afraid.”
She wrote, “Celebs who cozied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatized detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single-sex spaces.”
Neither Radcliffe nor Watson ever asked or implied a need for Rowling’s forgiveness.

We have six months to go and a lot of movies left to watch, and as was evidenced by the six films I included in my "Top Ten of the Year Contenders" on yesterday's The Best and Worst Movies of 2011... So Far post, there haven't been a ton of excellent films in theaters just yet. Three of those six films I saw at the Cannes Film Festival and only one of them has hit theaters so far (Midnight in Paris). This means we have to wash away the taste of the last six months. Sure, there were some good films and films we will all likely revisit over the years, but I think we can all generally agree 2011 hasn't exactly been a stellar year for movies.
So what's coming up? Well, I was able to compile a list of the top 21 (plus three) films I'm personally looking forward to seeing.

Twitter has been filled with raves about the first full trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 — with reactions that include "intense," "got goosebumps all over," "reminds me why Harry Potter rules," and "Earth shattering, hair standing, Pottergasm." Included in the mix are celebrity reactions. Chris Rankin, who plays Percy Weasley, tweeted "...pretty epic eh?" But the funniest response came from Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse). HP7 trailer = That. Was. Awesome. It would be really awkward if I bought a ticket to Eclipse just to see that on the big screen, right?

SnitchSeeker: The first question I have to ask you is has the Ministry set changed since Order of the Phoenix,especially since Voldemort destroyed it?
Chris: It has to some extent, yeah, less because Voldemort destroyed it, more because of the change in Ministry of Magic. I don’t want to say an awful lot more than that ‘cause it took me by surprise the other day when I went on it.

Snitchseeker interviewed Harry Potter stars Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) about how their characters have developed over the course of the series and what fans can expect from them in Deathly Hallows. I do know that Neville plays a big role in the final book, so we'll see what happens with that.The audio is a bit muted (or I'm going deaf) so here's some of the transcript:SnitchSeeker: Ok so what have you learned in terms of acting in Deathly Hallows compared to your character in the previous six films? While Harry, Ron and Hermione have been out of school, Neville’s assumed Harry’s position of leader of Dumbledore’s Army. It's literally all that training that Neville’s been through throughout the last couple of years. It...

Earlier this year Chris Rankin produced and starred in a short film called LifeHack. He plays LeafNode, a disheveled hacker who goes on a quest to discover the whereabouts of a missing girl using people's photographs to track her down. Said movie can be watched below;
You can read more about the project here (http://www.cakebomb.co.uk/tomska/?p=65). ---Quote--- Played by crew and classmate Chris Rankin, LeafNode is a smarmy hacker who is prone to staying indoors. To create this character, I needed to find/buy a lot of props. Some of which Chris provided himself and some that I had to buy. This included the scarf, cape, comic and cans of energy drink. I spent around £40 on getting Chris to look the way I wanted. ---End Quote---...

Looks like the Deathly Hallows are going to get a little more crowded. Aces Showbiz reports that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is currently being lensed, has added yet two more members to its cast. Chris Rankin will be reprising his role of Percy Weasley, which he has portrayed since the first installment of the wizard-centric film series in 2001. Meanwhile, and perhaps more mysteriously, a new Snatcher has been added to the cast. While the particular actor has not yet been confirmed, dancer and stuntman Chase Armitage is said to be filling the role and has allegedly confirmed the gig.
