‘Phineas and Ferb’ 10-Year Anniversary Video Makes Us Wish It Were Summer Again – Watch

‘Phineas and Ferb’ 10-Year Anniversary Video Makes Us Wish It Were Summer Again – Watch
Summer vacation ended a few years ago when “Phineas and Ferb” closed out its four-season run on Disney Channel, but the time has sure flown by: Today is the landmark animated series’ 10-year anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, Disney has put together a video highlighting some interesting fun facts about the show below.

Among the highlights: Statistics such as the number of countries and languages it aired in, the number of songs it produced, and the number of comic books and video games that were developed from it. The video also mentions that “Phineas” broke new ground for Disney Channel with its use of storyboards in place of scripts to plan episodes. The show even inspired a 27-foot long trailer designed to look like Perry the Platypus.

If this video makes you miss the shenanigans of Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, good news: They will be seen again, later this year.

‘Psycho Cop Returns’ Review (Vinegar Syndrome)

Stars: Robert R. Shafer, Barbara Niven, Miles Dougal, Rod Sweitzer, Nick Vallelonga, Melanie Good, Julie Strain | Written by Dan Povenmire | Directed by Adam Rifkin (as Rif Coogan)

You know, it wasn’t until the release of Detroit Rock City that I realised that a) Adam Rifkin and Rif Coogan are one in the same; and b) just how many of Rifkin’s films I considered amongst my favourites at that time: Never on Tuesday, The Dark Backward, The Chase and, of course, Psycho Cop Returns. Mainly because they were films I remember renting on video (you couldn’t escape trailers for The Dark Backward back in the VHS era) and seeing on Sky’s movie channels in the days when you could be guaranteed to find an “obscure” film screening as filler between their big-name flicks!

Psycho Cop Returns came at a period in horror movie making, which also included

New animated short from Oscar-winning filmmakers Moonbot is a sweet ode to imagination
AnimationFix: Your regular round-up of the latest animation news, from HitFix reporter Emily Rome Moonbot Studios released their latest animated short online this week, and it’s a sweet ode to imagination and forever being a child at heart. The five-minute short, Taking Flight, is also a tribute to Antonio Pasin, inventor of the Radio Flyer wagon and depicts a small boy’s boring day that turns into an adventure spent with his grandfather. It’s cute, and it has a timely if oft-heard message urging kids (and adults!) to stop looking at their screens all the time and get outside. But the film falls short of the creativity and unique charm of Moonbot’s first short, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, an ode to the power of story and a tale of renewal inspired by the destruction left by Hurricane Katrina. That short, which used a hybrid of stop-motion,
