Oliver Postgate was born on April 12, 1925 in Hendon, Middlesex, England as Richard Oliver Postgate. He was a writer and actor, known for Bagpuss (1974), Ivor the Engine (1975) and Life On Earth Perhaps (1985). He was married to Prudence Capell Myers. He died on December 8, 2008 in Broadstairs, Kent, England.
