Hans Poelzig(1869-1936)

Noted German architect and occasional film art director, a graduate of the Technische Universität in Berlin. From 1903 to 1916, he held a position as Professor of Architecture at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Wroclaw. Between 1916 and 1920, he was chief architect for the city of Dresden, in 1923 taking up a professorship at Dresden University.
