Ron Pederson is an award winning Canadian actor, improviser, theatre
producer, and director. Ron was born in Edmonton Alberta
Canada in 1978 and joined the vibrant Edmonton theatre scene at the age
of eight. Ron studied acting at the Citadel Theatre School from 1987
until 1991 at which time he was discovered by renowned playwright
Stewart Lemoine which forged a famous artistic relationship. Throughout
the nineties Ron worked with every major theatre company in Edmonton
and extensively on the new works of Stewart Lemoine. He may best known
for being a starring cast member for 3 Seasons of MADtv for which he
was nominated for a 2005 Canadian Comedy Award Nomination for Best TV
Performance He has worked across the country with most of Canada's
major theaters including The Stratford Festival, The Royal Manitoba
Theatre Centre, The Citadel Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, The Arts
Club, The Vancouver Playhouse, The Young Centre, The Canadian Stage
Company, The Tarragon Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille and The
SummerWorks Festival. Ron is a former Co-Artistic director and founder
of Toronto's Award winning; The National Theatre of the World, an
Artistic associate of Edmonton's Teatro La Quindicina and a founding
artistic producer of Toronto's newest theatre company The Theatre
Department. Ron is a 2011 Canadian Comedy award winner for Best
Improviser, and a recipient of the RBC Arts Professional award for his
work with the NTOW. He is a Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award Winner and
a nominee for both Vancouver's Jessie Richardson Award and Halifax's
Merritt Award for acting. He is the recipient of the SummerWorks
Festival Spotlight Performance Award for his performance in Extinction
Song in 2012 His television credits include MadTV (FOX, 3 Seasons
Canadian Comedy Award Nomination Best TV Performance), INsecurity (CBC)
The Late Late Show (CBS), SideKick (YTV), Degrassi (CTV). As an
acclaimed improviser he has appeared with theaters and festivals in
Chicago, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, Regina, Vancouver, Charleston SC,
NYC, Los Angeles, Berlin, Norway, and Amsterdam.
