After receiving a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Journalism from Rider University and a Master's degree (Ed.M) in Educational Media from Temple University, George joined the academic faculty at both Salem University in Massachusetts and the University of Vermont (UVM) where he taught at the graduate level.
George's career path took a dramatic turn following a backstage meeting with Texas superstar Johnny Winter at his concert in Burlington, Vermont. Shortly after this encounter, George was offered the position as the sound mixer for Johnny Winter's band, which eventually led to him becoming road manager for Edgar Winter's White Trash.
With his feet now firmly planted in the music industry, George became talent manager for artists including Aerosmith, Billy Squire and Joel Zoss (songwriter for Bonnie Raitt). George went on to produce music concerts and major events throughout New England including the Vermont Ski Show, The Green Mountain Summer Music Series and the Lake Placid Winter Olympics.
While producing concerts for Bob Marley and the Wailers, George developed an abiding friendship with Marley. Together they worked to achieve Bob's vision of taking his music to a broader audience. As National Promotional Manager, George took Bob Marley's song "Could You Be Loved" to #8 in the Billboard Top Ten Pop charts.
While filming promotional materials at the World Pro Ski Tour at Mammoth Lakes, California, George met the head of a Hollywood production company. Shortly thereafter, George accepted his offer to establish and head up his New York City offices. George subsequently chose to establish his own production company and went on to create a series of award-winning film and TV shows including: Men At Work - Live In San Francisco...Or Was It Berkley (CBS), and The Doors: Dance On Fire (Uni/HBO).
