Carla's journey into entertainment began with a childhood love for comedy, often delighting her family and friends with her comedic skits. At 14, she was discovered by a New York modeling scout, launching her into a successful career as a runway, print, and commercial model across the globe, from bustling cities like New York and Tokyo to cultural hubs like Germany, Spain, Mexico, and Venezuela.
However, Carla's ambitions didn't stop there. She embarked on a new chapter at age 21, relocating to New York City to hone her craft at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Later, she made her way to California where she continued her studies at the Lee Strasberg Institute under the tutelage of Hedy Sontag to further pursue her passion for acting.
Unbeknownst to Carla until 2001, a DNA test revealed a profound revelation: she was adopted at birth. This discovery illuminated her diverse heritage, which includes Swedish, Belgian, English, Irish, German, and Indigenous Arctic roots, despite her upbringing within her loving Puerto Rican family on the island.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Carla finds immense joy in her personal life. She is happily married to a retired Navy LCDR. Michael L. Smith(III). Carla is a devoted mother to two children from a previous marriage.
Carla's magnetic personality, zany sense of humor, and captivating bombshell looks have solidified her as a notable figure in the entertainment industry, leaving an indelible mark on both screen and runway.
