Son of Ryan O'Neal and Joanna Moore; brother of Tatum O'Neal.
He was indicted for manslaughter in the death of Francis Ford Coppola's son.
A wild, rather reckless youth who showed promise in the film The Escape Artist (1982) in 1982, but plummeted into low budget films. He struggled with the fame and attention indirectly foisted on him by parents Ryan O'Neal and Joanna Moore, and sister Tatum O'Neal.
His problems with drug addiction led to a reckless boating mishap that killed Francis Ford Coppola's 23-year-old son Gian-Carlo Coppola in May of 1986. Griffin was charged with manslaughter and indicted.
