Sinéad O'Connor
The story of Sinéad O'Connor's rise to worldwide fame, and how her iconoclastic personality resulted in her exile from the pop mainstream. Focusing on prophetic words and deeds across a six-year period (1987-1993), the film reflects on the legacy of this fearless trailblazer, through a contemporary feminist lens.

Edit
  • Trivia
Caused a huge international stir when she tore up a photograph of Pope John Paul II, live, on Saturday Night Live (1975) (on October 3, 1992), while shouting "Fight the true evil!" after singing an a capella version of Bob Marley's "War". Almost immediately, NBC received over a thousand phone calls with complaints. NBC, to this day, refuses to ever reair the incident, and all subsequent reruns of that show have a pre-show recording of her singing the song.
  • Quotes
As far as I'm concerned, I'm now in the business of making spiritual records and using my voice for that purpose. I'm not going to be singing songs that I made in the past. I closed the door on that incarnation of Sinead O'Connor.
