Here Are the 3 Broadcast TV Shows We’re Still Awaiting Decisions On
Updated May 24 at 7:31 a.m. Pt with “Code Black” canceled by CBS.

Is “Ghosted” coming back?

That’s a question on viewers’ minds as upfronts week comes to a close, with Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS and The CW all having announced their fall programming schedules as of Thursday. ‘Cause some of those slates have holes in them, meaning the statuses of almost half a dozen shows on broadcast television are still up in the air.

Look, we can accept the fact that not every series will be saved like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” — not every show should be. But come on, networks — minus ABC and The CW, who have already killed or renewed everything they’re going to — fans need to hear one way or another whether their favorite programs will be returning this fall, especially for ones that have a crazy-devoted fanbase.

Wtf Is Dietland All About? Let Julianna Margulies and Joy Nash Explain

Dietland is many things. The new AMC series is Joy Nash's first starring role. It's Julianna Margulies' return to TV, her first series since The Good Wife ended in 2016. It's also incredibly timely. Your life can change and your body can stay the same, which is so exciting and true." Based on the novel by Sarai Walker the new series was developed for TV by Marti Noxon of Mad Men and Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame. Aisha Tyler to Host AMC’s Companion Talk Show to New Drama Series ‘Dietland’

Aisha Tyler to Host AMC’s Companion Talk Show to New Drama Series ‘Dietland’
It’s a toss up whether Chris Hardwick or Aisha Tyler are more busy these days, but add yet another new project to Tyler’s column. The actress and comedian has been tapped to host AMC’s “Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler,” a new talk show to run as a companion series to the network’s upcoming “Dietland.”

“Unapologetic” joins series such as AMC’s “Talking Dead” and “Talking Saul” as talk shows connected to some of the network’s dramas. But unlike those shows, “Unapologetic” plans to explore topics and issues beyond just “Dietland.” Per AMC, “‘Unapologetic’ will feature Tyler leading a topical discussion around the broader, female-centric issues and themes that ‘Dietland’ explores. Tyler will be talking with celebrity fans, series actors and producers, as well as relevant journalists, writers, comedians and other tastemakers.”

It’s a return to the talk form for Tyler, who spent six seasons on

AMC Sets ‘Dietland’ Companion Talk Show Hosted by Aisha Tyler

AMC has given a greenlight to a live talk show hosted by Aisha Tyler to air as a companion series to the new drama “Dietland,” starring Joy Nash and Julianna Margulies.

“Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler” aims to put the spotlight on female empowerment, gender issues, body-image concerns, and other themes raised by the scripted drama that is described as a feminist revenge fantasy. Shepherded by showrunner-director Marti Noxon, “Dietland” is based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Sarai Walker.

“Unapologetic” is a departure from the norm of AMC’s after-shows in that its focus will extend beyond the content of its companion drama.

AMC Reveals Official Trailer For New Series ‘Dietland’

From Marti Noxon and starring Joy Nash and Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner Julianna Margulies, Dietland is a wickedly funny and extraordinarily timed satire about Plum Kettle (Nash), a ghost-writer for the editor of one of New York’s hottest fashion magazines. Struggling with self-image and fed up with how she’s treated by her boss and society, Plum sets out on a wildly complicated road to self-awakening. At the same time, everyone is buzzing over news reports about men, accused of sexual abuse and assault, who are disappearing and meeting untimely, violent deaths. Plum also finds herself in the middle of two warring factions—one sisterhood who may be responsible for the attacks on male harassers, and the other which preaches female empowerment. She straddles these two groups, trying to make sense of the changing world and her part in it.

Equal parts revenge fantasy and heartfelt journey to self-acceptance,

Trailer Watch: Fat-Shamers and Sexual Abusers Face the Music in AMC’s “Dietland”

Dietland

Revolution is afoot in a trailer for “Dietland,” Marti Noxon’s new AMC series. “I never wanted to stand out. I was just trying to fit in,” says Plum. She’s a fat woman working at the country’s biggest beauty magazine, and it pains her to stand out among her thin colleagues. Consumed by insecurities and obsessed with whittling down her body so she can live the life she dreams of, Plum spends her days doling out diet and makeup advice to women as a ghostwriter for her boss Kitty (Julianna Margulies).

But a “crazy thing” happens to Plum “on the way to becoming [her] best self” — she comes to realize that conforming and losing weight isn’t the solution to her problem. Society is the problem, and more specifically, the patriarchy. As her therapist points out, “Maybe its the people who judge you who need to change.”

Dietland Trailer: Is This AMC's Version of The Devil Wears Prada?

  • TVfanatic
Why does this trailer bring back memories of the wildly successful The Devil Wears Prada

The trailer is filled with glorious fashion, but what really clinches everything is the introduction of the wonderfully talented Julianna Margulies as the fashion editor to fear, Kitty Montgomery.

If you are expecting Dietland to be a copy of The Devil Wears Prada, you will be sorely disappointed.

The series follows Plum Kettle, played beautifully by Joy Nash, who is the ghost writer for Kitty Montgomery. You didn't think Kitty was answering all those letters, right?

Of course this being AMC there is also a sinister plot taking place throughout the series -- men are turning up dead, and Plum finds herself at the center of said plot.

The question remains, how the heck does she get herself involved in such violent acts?

AMC's upcoming series Dietland, based on the novel of the same name by Sarai Walker, is many things. It's about the beauty industry, America's obsession with weight loss, and about self-discovery.
