In the ending credits of the Extended Edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), his name is misspelled "John Nogle."
His daughter is the actress Samantha Noble.
Has the distinction of having played two emotionally disturbed men whose son had died; Denethor in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), and Dr. Walter Bishop in Fringe (2008).
In 2011, John Noble won the inaugural Critics' Choice Television Award Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for Fringe.
