Father of George Nichols Jr.
Veteran director, at Keystone during its heyday. Later with Mack Sennett.
Stage actor, for fourteen years with stock companies in San Francisco and Chicago. Entered films with Biograph, then became a leading actor/director with Thanhouser (1911-12). Subsequently with Lubin in Jacksonville, Florida, then worked variously for Keystone, Universal, Mutual and Selig. Often billed as 'George O. Nichols'.
