  • Trivia
Austrian operatic soprano, trained in Vienna. She was a leading performer at the Wiener Stadttheater from 1927 and two years later also made her screen debut. In 1933, she moved England and acted in several films for BiP. She was eventually signed by MGM in 1938 and moved to Hollywood to star as 'Della Lind' opposite Laurel & Hardy in Kaksi tyrolilaista (1938). This does not appear to have been a career-building move, as Grete never acted on screen again and henceforth plied her trade as a potter with occasional appearances on the stage.
