Everyone's a fan of Karl Urban and this is a great project for him to be a part of! It seems like something that he'd have a lot of fun doing, especially with the character that he gets to play.

Highlander Reboot Script Completed, Aiming For 2019 Release

They used to say “there can only be one.” But then they made several sequels of diminishing quality and an iffy TV show.

I’m talking, of course, about 1986 cult classic Highlander, set to be rebooted courtesy of Lionsgate, who purchased the franchise ten years ago and have been trying to develop a project ever since. Now, finally, that work is going to bear fruit. Word is that Colony writer Ryan Condal’s script has been enthusiastically received with the studio set to begin pre-production on the movie later this year.

If you’re not familiar with the franchise, it’s actually pretty cool. The deal is that there are a group of immortals battling each other for “The Prize” (reportedly ultimate knowledge and power). As you can imagine, though, immortals are pretty difficult to kill, with the only way to truly be sure is to sever their head from the body,

The word on the street is that there is some potential for a trilogy, just as long as the audience bonds with the first movie and that it is a hit. More on the Highlander reboot news below.

Pre-production is reportedly set to go ahead later this year ready for a 2019 release. The project has been in development at Summit Entertainment, a company owned by Lionsgate for over ten years.

If you’re not familiar with the original 1989 version starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery, here’s a recap of the official synopsis:

When the mystical Russell Nash (Christopher Lambert) kills a man in a sword fight in a New York City parking lot,

Jack Black Not Returning in Goosebumps 2?
Goosebumps 2 just got a little more interesting. A new report states that Jack Black, who starred in the first Goosebumps as creator R.L. Stine, may not return for the sequel. Sony has brought on writer Rob Lieber (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) to pen a new version of the script, which reportedly won't feature Black's character. At the present time, there's no actual deal in place for Jack Black to return in Goosebumps 2 as R.L. Stine, but sources say it's possible he could return, assuming his schedule allows for it. But this new script being worked on by Rob Lieber may be for reasons that go beyond scheduling. Jack Black is said to make $6 to $8 million per movie these days. Since Sony is looking to bring down the budget for
