Trivia (13)

Country singer.
Daughter of Grand Ole Opry legend George Morgan.
Had a secret affair with actor/U.S. Senator Fred Dalton Thompson (R-Tenn). Dated Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman (1993).
Two children, Morgan Anastasia Gaddis (from her first husband), and Jesse Keith Whitley (her second husband, Keith Whitley).
Her father, Grand Ole Opry legend George Morgan, died of a heart attack in 1975, when Lorrie was 16 years old. Coincidentally, singer/actress Natalie Cole was 16 when her father (Nat 'King' Cole) died.
Her second husband, Keith Whitley, died of alcohol poisoning in 1989, before her singing career took off.
Appeared in Keith Whitley's music video (Class of '63).
Close friend of Ralph Emery.
Many of Lorrie's songs appear in the documentary The Brandon Teena Story (1998).
At the end of 2003, she and her husband, singer Sammy Kershaw, filed for divorce. The split apparently became violent and they took restraining orders out on each other. By July 2004, the couple were back together. On her July 5 appearance on Larry King Live (1985), she discussed the split, explaining that interference from outsiders put a lot of strain on their relationship but they pulled through and would remain a couple.
Friend of Mindy McCready and Pam Tillis.
Lorrie and her longtime label, BNA recently parted ways. Her final album with the label is Greatest Hits Collection II (rel'd 2/22/2000).
Was not named for country singer Loretta Lynn. Lorrie Morgan was born in 1959, and Loretta Lynn wouldn't become a country star until the following year.
