Carlos Montalbán was born on June 5, 1903 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. He is known for his work on Bananas (1971), The Harder They Fall (1956) and The Out of Towners (1970). He died on March 28, 1991 in New York City, New York, USA.

Had three siblings: Carmen Montalban, Pedro Montalban and Ricardo Montalban.
Memorable as "El Exigente" ("The Demanding One") in Savarin Coffee TV commercials in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s.

In the 1950s, Carlos Montalbán was the narrator of most of the Spanish trailers of 20th Century Fox, and also narrated the Spanish adaptation of the shorts called CinemaScope Movietones from 20th Century Fox, produced by Edmund Reek. His voice was very well known to all moviegoers in Latin America, specially Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay.
He was also a voice-over actor and announcer; best known as the official Spanish language voice for Marlboro cigarettes worldwide.
His parents, Jenaro Montalban and Ricarda Merino, immigrated to Mexico from Castile in Spain.
