Isabell Monk has been seen on many stages in addition to her filmwork. Broadway: Execution of Justice, The Gospel at Colonus; Mabou Mines: The Warrior Ant, King Lear (as Gloucester); The New York Shakespeare Festival; Arena Stage; American Repertory Theatre; The Kennedy Center; Actors Theatre of Louisville; European tour: The Gospel at Colonus; Carnegie Hall; Mixed Blood Theatre: Cut Flowers; The Children's Theatre Company: A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings She has also been awarded several prestigous honors: McKnight Fellow, Fox Fellow, Obie Award, Helen Hayes Award Nominee, Drama Desk Award, Parent's Choice Honoree for Family. Aside from her acting, Monk is the author of several children's books...'Hope' and 'Family', picture books for children published by Carolrhoda Books; she also participates in "Creative Storytelling," public school residency programs. As a teacher, she participates in Neighborhood Bridge at The Children's Theatre Company and Book Buddies at the Guthrie.
