Holger Rune became the first teenager since Rafael Nadal in 2006 to reach the final of the Monte-Carlo Masters.
That came after an eventful comeback win over Jannik Sinner in a rain disturbed match on Court Rainier III. The young Dane had to battle a poor start, the weather and the crowd to come back from losing the opening set to win 1-6, 7-5, 7-5 in a match that was suspended midway due to the rain. He will now look to emulate his hero Rafael Nadal who beat Roger Federer as a 19-year-old 17 years ago. It was a solid start to the match by both players as they comfortably held serve.
Prior to the semi-final, Rune had only lost serve once in his 19 service games during the Monte Carlo week. However, in turbulent seaside court conditions, the 19-year-old struggled to settle in the wind and Sinner marched his way to a...

Grace Kelly would’ve celebrated her 89th birthday on November 12, 2018. The Oscar-winning actress made just a handful of movies before transforming from a Hollywood princess into a real life one following her marriage to Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. In honor of her birthday, let’s take a look back in the photo gallery above of all 11 of her films, ranked worst to best.
Kelly got her start performing onstage and in television before being drafted by Hollywood to appear in Henry Hathaway‘s ripped-from-the-headlines nail-biter “Fourteen Hours” (1951) when she was just 22-years-old. The next year found her starring as the concerned wife to an imperiled town marshal (Gary Cooper) in the landmark western “High Noon” (1952).
She got her first Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress for John Ford‘s adventure yarn “Mogambo” (1953), playing one of two love interests (along with Ava Gardner) to big game hunter Clark Gable. The next year,...

Nicole Kidman kicked off the 67th annual Cannes Film Festival as she attended a photocall for Grace of Monaco in the South of France this afternoon.
The actress wore a white layered frock with cut-out details in the sleeves as she posed for photographs ahead of the royal biopic's premiere, which will open the festival tonight.
She was also joined by co-star Tim Roth, who plays on-screen husband Prince Rainier III.
The film has already left controversy in its wake, with the Monaco royal family releasing an official statement distancing themselves from the project they've branded a "fictional farce".
Producer Harvey Weinstein and the film's director Olivier Dahan have also been publicly feuding over the film's final edit.
On top of that, it is currently receiving scathing reviews from critics in Cannes, with some dubbing it even worse than Naomi Watts' Diana.

Red carpet traumas for Grace Of Monaco
The 67th edition of the Cannes Film Festival has not even begun - but already the drama is hotting up behind the scenes with reports today that Harvey Weinstein is considering dropping the United States distribution rights to the opening film Grace Of Monaco (world premiere on 14 May).
Variety (the industry publication) reports that Weinstein remains unhappy with the finished version of the title which starts Nicole Kidman in the role of actress turned princess Grace Kelly and Tim Roth as Prince Rainier III.
Meanwhile the film's French director Olivier Dahan who made the Edith Piaf biopic La Vie En Rose, remains adamant that the version that will show in Cannes is his director's cut in line with France's "droit d'auteur" - and there is no alternative. He has already gone on record as saying that he would fight to preserve his cut.

I was unable to get comment from TWC or CAA, which shopped the domestic rights and established the film as a hot buzz title by showing a sizzle reel footage at Berlin. TWC’s Weinstein and David Glasser made the deal Friday night here in Hollywood with CAA on behalf of Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, who produced the film with Uday Chopra and Arash Amel.

After months of speculation and negotiation, we have our Grace Kelly. Nicole Kidman is in talks to play the famous, and famously beautiful, actress in Grace of Monaco, written by Arash Amel and directed by Olivier Dahan (La Vie en Rose). The film is working with a budget of around $15 million [Variety].
Amel’s script was featured on the 2011 Black List.
Taking place over the span of about a year in the life of the famous starlet (approximately December 1961 and November 1962), Kelly finds herself an Academy Award winner and mother who also happens to be a princess of Monaco, married to Prince Rainier III. Kelly was called upon to aid Monaco with tax reform, convincing Charles de Gaulle, leader of France, to give Rainier six months to complete the reform.

Palace representatives in Monaco have vehemently denied Prince Albert's fiancee, Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock, is having second thoughts ahead of their nuptials this weekend (02-03Jul11).
Prince Albert and his South African bride-to-be are set to wed at the Palace of Monaco in front of 800 guests on Saturday, but reports in France suggested Wittstock had to be persuaded from boarding a one-way flight back to her homeland last week (ends26Jun11).
A publicist for the prince denies the reports, insisting, "These rumours only serve to gravely hurt the image of the Sovereign, and that of Miss Wittstock, and bring major harm to this happy event."
And the couple's lawyer, Thierry Lacoste has also hit out at the claims.
He says, "It's sheer madness, everything is false. This rumour has been going on three weeks ... I was just with the Prince and Charlene Wittstock in Paris three days ago and I can promise you everything is fine."
Prince Albert is the son of Hollywood actress Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III. He has ruled the tiny European principality since his father's death in 2005.

Grace Kelly had an affair with her bridesmaid's husband, according to a new book on the Hollywood actress-turned-European royal. The Rear Window beauty is alleged to have enjoyed an illicit relationship with Malcolm Reybold - husband of her best friend Carolyn - during her marriage to Prince Rainier Of Monaco. Wendy Leigh, author of True Grace: The Life And Times Of An American Princess, tells the New York Post that legendary gossip columnist Aileen Mehle told her about a note written from the actress to Carolyn. Mehle said, "In August 1960, I was at dinner and everyone was agog about the letter Princess Grace had written. It was a full confession to Carolyn, her friend and bridesmaid, telling her she loved her but she would never be happy, could never live with herself if she did not confess to Carolyn that she had had an affair with Carolyn's husband, Malcolm. She said she was sorry. She was seeking expiation." Leigh adds, "At that time, Grace's father was on his deathbed. I believe that Grace became virtually unhinged by grief at the prospect of losing him. Hence, her letter of confession to Carolyn. As to her affair with Malcolm, wrong as it was, I believe that she succumbed to Malcolm, an accomplished seducer, at a time when she was vulnerable in the extreme. But receiving that letter from Grace was the beginning of the downfall of Carolyn." Leigh says Carolyn has confirmed Kelly wrote a confession letter to her and that she had forgiven her.

PARIS -- After more than half a century on the throne, Prince Rainier III of Monaco died Wednesday after a battle with lung, heart and kidney problems, the palace announced. He was 81. He is succeeded by his son, Prince Albert. Rainier was Europe's longest-reigning monarch, coming to the throne in 1950. He brought glamour to the tiny principality by marrying Hollywood beauty Grace Kelly in 1956. Princess Grace died in a 1982 car crash, and the prince never remarried. During his reign, Prince Rainier turned Monaco into a playground for the rich and famous and made it home to many events on the international calendar, including a Grand Prix car race and the Monte Carlo Television Festival, which takes place at the end of June.
