Burt Metcalfe was the only producer to stay with the TV series M*A*S*H (1972) during its entire run. Originally the series' associate producer, Metcalfe was promoted to line producer when Larry Gelbart left the series and then to executive producer when Gene Reynolds moved on to Lou Grant (1977).
