  • (2003) He acted in Christopher Hampton's translation of Anton Chekhov's play, "Three Sisters," at the Playhouse Theatre in London, England with Kate Burton, Kristin Scott Thomas, Madeleine Worrall, Robert Bathurst, Douglas Hodge, David Burke, James Fleet, Susannah Wise, Tom Beard, Margery Mason, and Eric Sykes in the cast. Michael Blakemore was director.
  • (February 9, 2011 - April 30, 2011) Tobias starred as Dr. Joseph Cardin opposite Keira Knightley, Elizabeth Moss, Ellen Burstyn, Bryony Hannah, and Carol Kane, in the stage play, The Children's Hour, by Lillian Hellman, directed by Ian Rickson, performed at the Comedy Theater, London.

Robert Icke directed the production at the Almeida, London with Jessica Brown Findlay, Vanessa Kirby, Richard Lumsden, Hilton McRae, Ann Queensberry, Paul Rhys, and Susan Wooldridge.

  • (2005) Tobias was one of the leads in the acclaimed production of The History Boys, directed by Nicholas Hytner at the Royal National Theatre, London.
