Growing up in Chicago and Phoenix, Mike McNerney began his entertainment industry career in radio in the '70's, filling roles as on-air personality, news reporter, commercial character voice artist, and Production Director. More than a decade later, he co-founded a recording studio in the Bay Area, transitioning to video and film production, first as a sound mixer, then camera operator and DP for commercials and country music videos. A graduate of the DGA Trainee Program, his work as an Assistant Director and Producer has taken him from Los Angeles and Chicago to San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Western Michigan, Austin, and Hawaii.
As an actor, McNerney is classically trained, having performed in stage presentations of My Fair Lady (Freddy Einsford-Hill), Chapter Two (Leo), and No Sex, Please, We're British (Inspector Vernon Paul), as well as commercials, festival shorts, and network television. He has also voiced characters and narration in numerous radio theater productions over the past 40 + years.
As a screenwriter, McNerney pens in a variety of genres including period drama, action-adventure, thriller, coming of age and romantic comedy.
McNerney also composes music as a singer-songwriter, and scores new-media projects.
In his downtime, he enjoys astrophotography, and playing guitar.
