Mark McClafferty, who began his career in Delaware Politics, worked for Senator Joe Biden. Formerly President of Eddie Murphy Productions at Paramount Studios, Mark is a creative executive, having written and produced numerous T.V. Shows, one of which, What's Alan Watching was awarded the Television Critics Best Comedy Special. Mark also Produced/Executive Produced the awarding winning movie, The Climb. Class War is his latest feature production. Presently, he is co-founder and Chairman of Spellbound Pictures Ltd., USA LLC .

Early in his career, Mark traveled West to join the ABC network, first as manager and then as Director of Program Research. In three short years, Mark moved into his first creative job in the motion picture and television industry at Paramount Pictures, working as Director of Creative Affairs for Miller/Milkus/Boyett Productions. Mark developed new programs and supervised ongoing hit shows such as Happy Days, Mork and Mindy, Laverne and Shirley, Angie and Bosom Buddies, T om Hanks first venture in Hollywood.

Moving back to ABC as a program executive, Mark was promoted to Director of Dramatic Programming for the network. Mark and his staff were responsible for supervising such successful shows as: Hart to Hart, Dynasty, Fantasy Island, Hotel, Hardcastle & McCormick and Greatest American Hero. It was during this period, that Mark met prolific producer Glen A. Larson and joined him at Twentieth Century Fox as the company's Executive Vice President and Producer. During Mark's tenure, the company had a streak of many of TV's most successful shows on the air, including BattleStar Galactica, The Fall Guy,Cover up, Magnum P.I. and Trauma Center.

Mark was then recruited by Eddie Murphy to return to Paramount Pictures to join Eddie Murphy Television Productions as its President. He served in this position for seven years, directing all operations. Under his supervision the company sold eight network shows, including CBS's successful, The Royal Family, starring Redd Foxx and Della Reese, which Mark Executive Produced and wrote. The highly acclaimed What's Alan Watching was another show that the television critics picked as the best Comedy Special of the year. Mark also produced several other series and the iconic Best of Eddie Murphy Saturday Night Live Video and the movie, The Kid Who Loved Christmas which starred Cicely Tyson, Charlie Murphy, Vanessa L.Williams, Ray Parker Jr., Ester Rolle and Sammy Davis Jr. in his last movie.

In 1996 Mark and his partner, Pamela Edwards, co-founded Spellbound Pictures Ltd USA and completed a $60,000,000.00, 12 picture deal with Ellipse/Canal+, the French Entertainment giant, to supply the United Artist Theater Circuit with a steady flow of family friendly films. Mark was named Chairman of the Consortium. It was under this deal that Spellbound completed The Climb, which was released February 26, 1999. Other movies developed by the consortium continue to show in Europe.

The Climb won major film festival awards in, Vienna,Giffoni, Berlin (The Golden Bear Unicef Award) Houston, Flagstaff and Montreal. The Climb was released theatrically and has run on HBO, Showtime, Encore and Stars and is selling via download world-wide. Spellbound Pictures currently has several projects in development for the streaming services. Additionally, Mark and his partner, Pamela, produced and released the best selling comedy "Katt Williams Live" which was Katt's first comedy special and has aired many times on Comedy Central.

In 2025, Mark is producing the musical Artland, Book & Lyrics by his best selling partner, Pamela Edwards McClafferty, and Music by legendary composer/musician Stanley Clarke.

Mark has produced two songs, Shades of Black and White and Reflections on the NOW Album under the Spellbound Pictures banner in addition to launching BLUE a novel by Walter Jones that has repeatedly been on the bestseller list.

Further in 2025, Mr.McClafferty is writing and producing "The Hopkins of Harlem" with former Eddie Murphy Productions Partner, Clint Smith, as well as The Knightwatchers with Pamela Edwards McClafferty, David Garber and Hunter Barella.

Mark is a member of Who's Who in America and The Omicron Delta Kappa Society, recognizing Academic Achievement and Achievement in the Arts. He has testified before Congress on the Viet Nam War, and has been recognized in the past by the University of Delaware as one of their100 most notable Graduates.
