John McCallum was born on March 14, 1918 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia as John Neil McCallum. He was a producer and actor, known for Nickel Queen (1971), A Boy, a Girl and a Bike (1949) and Miranda (1948). He was married to Googie Withers. He died on February 3, 2010 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

John and Googie Withers have a daughter, Joanna McCallum, and a son, Nicholas McCallum.
Debonair, gentlemanly Australian leading man and supporting player of English films during the late 40s and early 50s.
Appeared in quite a few films together with his wife, Googie Withers, then returned to Australia where he directed and produced films, and appeared on stage frequently with his wife.
He was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1971 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to the performing arts.
He was awarded the A.O. (Officer of the Order of Australia) in the 1992 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the performing arts.
Not the same person as Scotland-born actor John C. McCallum, who often worked as John McCallum in secondary roles in USA films of the 1930s and 1940s.
