Aubrey Mather was born on December 17, 1885 in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire, England. He was an actor, known for Jane Eyre (1943), The Importance of Being Earnest (1952) and Heaven Can Wait (1943). He died on January 16, 1958 in London, England.

Bald English character actor. On stage from 1905, films from 1911. Appeared in films in his native country, until his move to Hollywood in 1940, upon which he slotted in to become a member of the resident British colony.
Bald-pated character actor in theatre from 1905, then in UK films of the 30's and US films of the 40's and 50's, often portraying - yes! - the butler.
