Trivia (1)
After singing secondary baritone roles for four seasons at the Metropolitan Opera (1927 - 31, debut as the Herald in Wagner's "Lohengrin," 12 November 1927), he made his movie debut in 1930 in the original operetta "Dixiana." Although the film was a success at the box office, Marshall preferred to concentrate on the stage, touring successfully for years in such perennials as Sigmund Romberg's "The Student Prince" and "Blossom Time."
