Barbara Markham was born on August 9, 1910 in Warwick, Warwickshire, England as Eunice Barbara Francis. She is known for her work on Flash Gordon (1980), The Lady Vanishes (1979) and Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971). She was married to John Stuart and Cyril Chamberlain. She died on December 19, 1983 in Hammersmith, London, England.

Trivia (2)

Under the name Barbara Francis she was one of the UK top elocution and voice coaches. She was frequently employed by the legendary Binkie Beaumont to work on the West End theater shows he produced.
She taught Meryl Streep to speak with an English accent for "The French Lieutenant's Woman", and was praised by the actress in her many promotional interviews for the film.
