Gino Grimaldi, a veteran TV producer known for such series as “Knight Rider” and “Emergency” died Friday in Newport Beach, Calif., according to his wife Nancy Grimaldi. He was 74.

Grimaldi began his 20-year career at Universal Studios as a film editor, where he worked on the “Bob Hope Christmas” and “Vietnam” Specials.

The HeyUGuys Interview: Brendan Fraser talks Escape from Planet Earth

This weekend sees the release of Escape from Planet Earth, a family film that follows a hapless alien who’s trapped on the dangerous Planet Earth, and his attempt to escape a horrible fate at the hands of the humans. Brendan Fraser provides the voice of Scorch Supernova, the blue-skinned extraterrestrial hero, in a role that sees the loveable actor continue his run of family-friendly movies after Furry Vengeance and Inkheart, and as an aside to his more independent, serious fare such as Gimme Shelter and Breakout.

When we spoke with the actor we expected a straight-forward interview. How very wrong we were; the following conversation includes some singing, a bit of ice cream tasting, and a dash of Charlie Chaplin, proving why Fraser is the go-to guy if you’re looking to give your movie some spark. Read on on and enjoy.

Hi Brendan, how are you doing?

Hollywood! Adapt This: Emergency!

The television landscape is populated with hit medical dramas across the decades, from Dr. Kildare, M*A*S*H and Marcus Welby, M.D., to Grey's Anatomy, House and, of course, ER.  One series that ran alongside M*A*S*H centered on the emergency personnel of Los Angeles County Fire Department's Station 51 and nearby Rampart General Hospital.  It was the first of its kind to feature paramedics responding to emergency calls in addition to the in-hospital staff they handed their patients off to.  It's been more than 40 years since this show debuted and it's time to shine the spotlight on these real-life professionals once again.  Hit the jump for more.  Hollywood!  Adapt this: Emergency! What It's About:  Created and produced by Jack Webb and Robert A. Cinader, the brains behind police series Adam-12 and Dragnet, Emergency! was a one-hour medical drama that featured emergency personnel dealing with multiple incidents throughout their shift.

TVLine Items: Bones Brings On New Big Bad, Sons of Anarchy Throws a Wedding, and More
First, there was The Gravedigger. Then, Gormogon. Now, Bones‘ Booth and Brennan will go up against… a “tech-savvy foe”?!

Doesn’t sound too menacing, but details surrounding Bones‘ Season 7 big bad have surfaced and he (or she) sounds spooky.

Bones Ep Stephen Nathan describes this new villain as “someone who is an extremely odd and fearless foe,” though “much more… 21st-century” than previous nemeses.

Nathan tells TVGuide.com this “nefarious character” will surface at the end of Episode 6 — aka Emily Deschanel’s final episode before her maternity leave. Once the actress returns for new episodes, “We will follow [the new villain] for a

Liveblogging "Brothers & Sisters": "Scandalized"

Nora and Kitty try to traverse the minefield of their love lives. Meanwhile, we're supposed to get our first glimpse of the kid Kevin and Scotty may or may not try to adopt.

Of course, if they really want to add some excitement to the show, they should consider a few alternatives. Think of what it would do for the ratings if the guys decided to look ... outside-the-box ... for their adoption.

For instance:

Vicky The Robot - Poor Vicky has been sitting on the shelf since they canceled Small Wonder, the worst/best show in the history of TV, and now that Rebecca is gone, Vicky can fill that "almost lifelike" void.

Orphan - You just know Nora wouldn't be able to resist ripping that ribbon off. Then the fun really begins.

Dee - The What's Happening wisecracker would bring much-needed spirit to Kevin and Scotty's lives. And she could annihilate Kitty with one eye-roll.

For Michael Swan Audition Turns Into 'Old Home Week'

For Michael Swan Audition Turns Into 'Old Home Week'

By Tracie Powell and Angela Toszegi

What do Michael Swan, Robert Newman, Randolph Mantooth, and Mark Pinter all have in common besides the obvious? They all showed up for the same job interview last week.

“Just came back from the ‘old home week’ audition of all time. All guys I've worked with over the years going back to prime time in the seventies,” said Michael Swan, who portrayed Duncan McKechnie on As The World Turns in the 1980s.

Swan said he was at the audition with Newman (who portrayed the well-loved ‘Josh Lewis’ on Guiding Light) and they were talking about the ill-fated ‘Brad Green’ on Gl and how Mark Pinter took over the part. “His name had no sooner left my lips then (Pinter) walked in the room,” Swan continued. “So great to see him; what a classy and great looking guy.

Trauma: NBC Series Pays Homage to Emergency! TV Show

When NBC's Trauma series was first announced, more than a few TV viewers were reminded of the 1970s Emergency! TV show. Trauma Executive Producer Dario Scardapane says that's not a coincidence.

Emergency! revolves around a Los Angeles team of devoted paramedics, doctors, nurses, and firemen who are quick to respond when there's an accident or disaster. The cast includes Robert Fuller, Julie London, Bobby Troup, Randolph Mantooth, Kevin Tighe, Tim Donnelly, Mike Stoker, Marco Lopez, Michael Norell, and Ron Pinkard.

The series ran for six seasons on NBC, from 1972 until 1977. It was cancelled after 122 installments but members of the cast returned in five made-for-tv movies between 1978 and 1979.

In two of the TV movies, some of the characters visit San Francisco and one of the movies involves two airplanes crashing over a residential neighborhood. Up until

Party Favors: A Swiftian Gouge

Nashville - How much is your child’s love worth?

Kiddie country sensation Taylor Swift is coming to town. Just for kicks I checked Stubhub to see how much people were willing to resell tickets to the sold out show. I nearly threw up my Twinkie when I saw quite a few seats priced at $l,200. That’s not a typo. They are expecting some parent to pay $1,2000 for their kid to see a twig with a blonde wig. Since the kid isn’t of driving age, that means the parent is willing to pay $2,400 to make their kid happy. While the seats were on the floor, they were nearly 50 rows back from the stage.

For that price, I expect to be close enough to the stage to know if Taylor Swift wears panties or a g-string. I want to be close enough to use qualify as her Ob-gyn. I

Emergency! Season Five DVD Review -- Jen says uh-oh, yet another once-entertaining show has grown tedious

As with any truly gripping medical prognosis, there’s good news and bad news about the Emergency! Season Five DVD box set. Unlike previous seasons of the show, this season definitely has some good moments, balanced by some truly boring stinkers. Shows like Star Trek the original series, Laverne and Shirley and Buffy the Vampire Slayer grew more baroque and layered as the seasons progressed, where Emergency! carries the distinct aura of a one-time hit show whose writers have run out of ideas. Emergency! Season five kicks off the season with a mighty yawn, chronicling our two lead characters, paramedics John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) and Roy “Road House” DeSoto (Kevin Tighe) as they fly as passengers on a plane. A man who is having an in-flight heart attack interrupts their flight, and they are compelled to assist. The episode mainly ...
