How to watch the 2018 Daytime Emmys: TV academy announces a new partnership for its streaming telecast

The 2018 Daytime Emmy Awards will be handed out on Sunday, April 29, and the national television academy has just announced a new partner for its official digital telecast, as was reported exclusively by our sister site Variety. Knekt TV is teaming up with NATAS to stream the event on multiple platforms.

Starting with a live red-carpet pre-show, the event will be available to watch on the Daytime Emmys social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as the Emmys official website. It will also be shown on Knekt’s digital network, which is available on Apple TV, Roku, iOS and Android.

Academy senior vice president David Michaels said in a statement, “NATAS is thrilled to have this partnership which gives us the potential of the largest world-wide audience we have ever had. In addition we are very excited about the live red carpet show and the backstage winner interviews Knekt

‘Dancing with the Stars’: Apolo Anton Ohno voted favorite male athlete winner [Poll Results]
Apolo Anton Ohno has danced off with another win: The short track speed skater is your favorite male athlete winner of “Dancing with the Stars.” With 39 percent of the vote, Ohno was way ahead of the other five contenders.

The eight-time Olympic medalist won Season 4 in 2007 with Julianne Hough, beating Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson with their electric hip-hop freestyle. Ohno later placed fifth with Karina Smirnoff in the all-star season.

Well behind in second place with 26 percent is Rashad Jennings, who won Season 24 with Emma Slater. The former New York Giants running back took down frontrunners Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy, who had to settle for third place behind runner-ups David Ross and Lindsay Arnold.

Congratulations to our User Casey Hutchison for a terrific score of 79.07% when predicting the 2018 Daytime Emmys nominations on Wednesday. He is just ahead of four people — arat, Zachary Landes, Chanceman, Josh Carrell — who tied for second place with a score of 76.74%. Our top scorer also has a point score total of 8,038 by using the 500 super bets wisely.

Almost 500 people worldwide predicted these nominees in nine categories. The awards ceremony will be held on April 29 in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood. 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations: 'General Hospital' Is Most Nominated Series

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The ceremony will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sunday, April 29, 2018 hosted by Mario Lopez, host and star of the Emmy award-winning syndicated entertainment news show, Extra, and Sheryl Underwood, one of the hosts of The Talk. The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Friday, April 27, 2018.

General Hospital led all series with 26 nominations, followed by Days of Our Lives (25), The Young and the Restless (25), The Bold and the Beautiful (18) and The Bay The Series (15).

‘General Hospital’ leads the 2018 Daytime Emmy nominations with 26, followed by ‘Days’ and ‘Young and the Restless’ (25)

The 2018 Daytime Emmy nominations were announced on Wednesday, March 21, live on CBS’s talk show “The Talk,” and though “Days of Our Lives” led the acting pre-nominations with 20 it was “General Hospital” that led the full list of official nominations with 26 bids including Best Drama Series, which it won last year and has won more times (13) than any other series in Daytime Emmy history. ABC’s “General Hospital” tops the list of nominees for the 45th annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

The veteran soap garnered 26 bids, followed closely by fellow daytime serials “Days of Our Lives” (NBC) and “The Young and the Restless” (CBS) with 25 apiece. Those three shows and CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” round out the nominees for daytime drama series.

CBS and syndicated programming tied for the No. 1 ranking among networks with 66 mentions apiece. Netflix weighed in with 51 bids.
