JJ got his start working as a sound apprentice for the NBC Symphony Orchestra, led by Arturo Toscanini in Studio 8H at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. In 2006, his granddaughter, Judith Lupatkin, got her start in the television industry as an NBC Page and worked at Saturday Night Live, also housed in Studio 8H.
