Character actor Felix Locher (pronounced Lo-Shay) didn't begin acting until he was 73 years old. The father of actor Jon Hall (born Charles Felix Locher), he was visiting his son who was preparing for his part in the film Hell Ship Mutiny (1957) when he was spotted by the director who convinced him to play the part of the elderly Tahitian chief. From then on he appeared in numerous television productions throughout the 1950s and 1960s until his death in 1969 at age 87.

Former father-in-law of singer/actress Frances Langford.
Former father-in-law of actress Raquel Torres.
He was the earliest born actor to appear in a "Star Trek" film or television episode. He played Robert Johnson in Star Trek: The Deadly Years (1967). Along with Judith Anderson, Morgan Farley, Richard Hale, Anthony Jochim, Celia Lovsky, Leonard Mudie, Charles Seel, Bill Borzage, Abraham Sofaer and Ian Wolfe, he is one of only eleven "Star Trek" actors to have been born in the 19th Century.
He is buried next to his son Jon Hall in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills.
Prior to starting his acting career, Felix had been an inventor who held over 100 copyrights and patents relating to a unique mapping system that he used when lecturing military officers, and an insurance salesman.
