‘The Sinner’ Season 2 Reveals First-Look Photos and Who’s Joining Carrie Coon in the Mystery Crime Series
[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Sinner” Season 1, including the ending.]

After “The Sinner” cast its “formidable, mysterious woman” with Carrie Coon, the USA Network series didn’t have to look far when it needed to cast an older man for its next season. The actress’ husband, Tracy Letts – the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, screenwriter, and Tony-winning actor – has joined the cast, opposite Bill Pullman, in Season 2.

Created by Derek Simonds and based on German author Petra Hammesfahr’s book of the same name, Season 1 of “The Sinner” revolved around Det. Harry Ambrose (Pullman) helping Cora Tannetti (Jessica Biel) uncover nearly unimaginable past traumas, which helped reduce her 30-year prison sentence for murder to second-degree manslaughter. In the second season, Ambrose travels to his hometown in rural New York to investigate the case of an 11-year-old boy who claims to have killed his parents but has no motive.

The Post

Steven Spielberg’s excellent Pentagon Papers exposé thriller comes straight from the facts. If the project wasn’t begun in 2014 we’d think it was a direct response to today’s attacks on the news media. We’ll take it as that anyway. It’s a fine performing showcase for Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, and the direction creates exciting drama without a single car chase, assassination attempt or superhero.

Martyna Majoks’ ‘Cost of Living’ Takes 2018 Pulitzer Prize

Martyna Majoks just became the recipient of one of the theater’s highest honors: the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Recognizing a superlative theatrical work staged in the previous calendar year, the prestigious prize has been voted upon by a small group of critics since 1918. Nathan Lane (‘Angels in America’) could win third Tony Award, first for a play

Nathan Lane (‘Angels in America’) could win third Tony Award, first for a play
Nathan Lane has won two Tony Awards from five nominations. This year, with his acclaimed turn as notorious attorney Roy Cohn in the Broadway revival of”Angels in America,” Lane hopes to claim his third Tony and first for a performance in a play.

Tony Kushner won the 1993 Pulitzer Prize and Tony for this play about the early days of AIDS. Lane portrays Cohn who, in 1985, is deeply closeted and has recently learned he has been infected. Cohn finds himself alone in the hospital, judged by those around him, including the ghost of Ethel Rosenberg, who was executed alongside husband Julius following Cohn’s successful prosecution at their espionage trial.

Ben Brantley‘s review in The New York Times was a love letter: “Taking on a role memorably embodied by Ron Leibman and Al Pacino, among others, he provides a fresh-as-toxic-paint interpretation that embraces extremes — of viciousness and, more surprisingly tenderness — without stripping gears.
