Roberto Leoni scripted more than seventy films (some of which have become cult classics such as Santa Sangre (1989)). He wrote and directed TV and feature films (including Favola crudele (1991) with John Savage) and short films like Pro Bono (under the auspices of Amnesty International) protesting discrimination and persecution. From August 2017, he reviewed old and new movies in his talk show, Roberto Leoni Movie Reviews (2017). His last feature film was De Serpentis Munere (2021) (The Serpent's Gift), starring Guglielmo Scilla, Alexandra Dinu, Benjamin Stender, and Valentina Reggio.
