Siegfried Lenz was born on 17 March 1926 in Lyck, East Prussia, Germany [now Elk, Warminsko-Mazurskie, Poland]. He was a writer and actor, known for The Lightship (1985), Das Feuerschiff (1963) and Die Zeit der Schuldlosen (1964). He was previously married to Liselotte. He died on 7 October 2014 in Hamburg, Germany.
