Although the names have been changed, the movie Smash-Up: The Story of a Woman (1947) is based on her life.
She recorded and released the song "A Fine Romance" with husband Bing Crosby in 1936.
Suffered from acute alcoholism, which contributed to her early death. Her four sons also suffered from long term effects of drinking; two of them eventually committed suicide.
