First Trailer for Psychological Horror Film 'Tilt' About a Doc Filmmaker

"I don't know, maybe it's normal...? It's not normal. I know it's not normal...!" The Orchard has released an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Tilt, from Iranian-American director Kasra Farahani. This premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, but like most Tribeca films, we've never heard of it before now. Tilt stars the young actor Joseph Cross as an unemployed documentary filmmaker whose behavior becomes increasingly erratic in the months after his wife becomes pregnant. The full cast includes Alexia Rasmussen, Jessy Hodges, C.S. Lee, and Kelvin Yu. This looks like a chilling psychological thriller, for sure. I'm not exactly sure how the pregnancy story plays into things, perhaps it is what sets off his insanity. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Kasra Farahani's Tilt, direct from The Orchard's YouTube: Something is off about Joe (Joseph Cross). He's not excited about the baby. He

New Trailer for Indie Lo-Fi Discovery 'Everything Beautiful Is Far Away'

"I'm here to find the great lake of fresh water, and you seem to know a lot about the desert, so..." The Orchard has unveiled an official trailer for an indie gem titled Everything Beautiful Is Far Away, a quirky little lo-fi, sci-fi film about a man and a woman wandering around in a desert. From directors Pete Ohs & Andrea Sisson, this intriguing film is a metaphor for life and relationships, similar (thematically) to Swiss Army Man. I caught this film at the American Film Festival in Poland and it totally won me over (read my full review here). Joseph Cross stars, along with Julia Garner, featuring an appearance by C.S. Lee. It's very hard to describe this film, and even harder to convince anyone to watch it, so hopefully this trailer will get a few of you interested. It's a charming indie discovery that you'll be glad you took the time to enjoy.

Slaves Of Hollywood - A 1993 film about Hollywood Assistants ripped from today's headlines, sort of.

by Terry Keefe

Back in the mid-90s, Michael Wechsler, Brian Grossman, and myself collaborated with a bunch of great young actors and crew for this micro-budgeted feature film about tortured Hollywood assistants. Alex Simon makes a few cameos also!

As we were going for "theater of the absurd," and (mostly) dark laughs, it isn't the perfect companion to today's headlines, but some of the milieu will be familiar. The stories about Harvey Weinstein abounded even then. In total honesty, I had great bosses in Hollywood, and the film is all based on stories we had heard about Other bosses. The ones you didn't want to work for. There but for the grace of God went we. But Meryl Streep did later call Harvey "God," so it all gets confusing.

We shot this two years before Kevin Spacey tore up the screen as the abusive producer in Swimming With Sharks,

Fantasia 2017 Preview: ‘Tilt’

Directed Kasra Farahani (The Good Neighbour), Tilt is a prescient and chilling character study with added components of social relevance, described as “aimed towards the uncomfortable “new normal” of white male rage and entitlement”. ‘Tilt’ Teaser: Creepy Tribeca Midnight Pick Asks How Well You Really Know the People You Love — Watch
Typically, you’d expect there to be a clear and open line of communication with a best friend or significant other, but people always maintain a certain degree of privacy — which is healthy, as long as privacy doesn’t develop into secrecy. That’s at the heart of Kasra Farahani’s “Tilt,” debuting at this month’s Tribeca Film Festival as part of their ambitious Midnight section.

How well do you really know someone? “Tilt” has some ideas, and most of them are shocking indeed.

Review: 'True Detective' - 'Night Finds You': The lone gunman?

Review: 'True Detective' - 'Night Finds You': The lone gunman?
A review of tonight's "True Detective" coming up just as soon as I support feminism by having body image issues... "But us, the investigation... I don't think it's supposed to work." -Ray "Night Finds You" could be a tricky episode for me to write about, since it ends on a cliffhanger with Ray getting shot in the chest by Caspere's killer (or by another man with a very particular bird mask fetish), and since you know I've seen next week's episode and am therefore aware whether Ray lives or dies. Fortunately, I don't need to dance around what I do and don't know, and what I'm comfortable hinting at, because I can share exactly how I reacted in the moments immediately after I finished watching this one: "Huh. I was not expecting that." If Velcoro is dead, then all the time spent trying to cast that role represents a classic

True Detective Season 2 Trailer Unleashes “Your Worst Self”

With the second season of its award-winning True Detective anthology airing next month, HBO has finally seen fit to unveil a suitably atmospheric, gritty trailer for what’s ahead. Though there’s not much here in terms of detail about the plot, every principal player gets a moment in the spotlight.

Of course, I’m still stinging from showrunner Nic Pizzolatto’s admittance that the “occult history” aspect of the season got cut early on, but the presence of stars like Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn intrigues me nonetheless.

Farrell is playing a compromised detective disillusioned with his bleak existence (and likely the source of any McConaughey-esque philosophical musings this season), McAdams plays a dedicated detective determined to remain true to her badge in a morally corrupt system, Kitsch is the police officer and war veteran who uncovers a horrific crime scene, and – to top it

Today the network has released yet another True Detective trailer, which takes us inside the minds of the four main characters, Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell), Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn), Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) and Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams). As you can tell from this trailer, each of these characters have a number of issues they're all dealing with, on top of their professional lives.

A bizarre murder brings together three law-enforcement officers and a career criminal, each of whom must navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California. Colin Farrell is Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective in the all-industrial City of Vinci, La County. Vince Vaughn plays Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his life's work, while his wife and closest

Vince Vaughn Talks 'True Detective' Season 2; More Photos
Following the first photos that emerged earlier this week, new images from the True Detective Season 2 set in Los Angeles offer another look at Taylor Kitsch as he engages a gunfight alongside Colin Farrell. We also have more images of Rachel McAdams. Though, the one star we haven't seen yet is Vince Vaughn. Thankfully, the actor recently spoke with Playboy, where he offered some insight into this season. The actor reveals that he was initially cast as career criminal Frank Semyon when he approached True Detective series creator Nic Pizzolatto about writing The Rockford Files movie that the actor was developing.

"I was developing a movie version of The Rockford Files and met with Nic about writing it. He was really enthusiastic but was already working on a crime drama set in Los Angeles, and he gracefully said it was best for him to focus on True Detective. Then he
