In 1990, he played two different characters simultaneously in Dallas (1978) and its spin-off Knots Landing (1979), the only actor to ever do so (though several other actors played different small parts on both shows): Donia in the former and Bob Phillips in the latter. On four occasions, he played both characters in episodes of the respective series on consecutive nights: The Fan Club (1990) on May 10, 1990 and Three, Three, Three: Part 2 (1990) on May 11, 1990, You Can Call Me Nick (1990) on November 1, 1990 and April in Paris (1990) on November 2, 1990, Do Not Attempt to Remove (1990) on November 8, 1990 and Charade (1990) on November 9, 1990 and The Best Laid Plans (1990) on November 15, 1990 and One Last Kiss (1990) on November 16, 1990.
