American costume designer, usually billed simply as 'Norma'. In Hollywood from 1951, she was frequently associated with the films of Robert Aldrich. Two of her three Oscar nominations were for psychological thrillers, starring Bette Davis: What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) (winner for best B&W costume design) and Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964).
