Friday The 13th Star Adrienne King Reveals Her Secret Uncredited Role In Ghostbusters

Adrienne King is one of the best things about Friday the 13th, with her terror and trauma at being stalked by Jason all too plausible. Her character Alice Hardy even survived the events of the original movie, only to catch an ice pick in the temple courtesy of Jason in Friday the 13th Part 2. But, not content with being in two of the 1980’s most iconic films, she’s now revealed that she also had an uncredited role in Ghostbusters.

In a post on her Facebook page, the actress disclosed the 34-year-old secret, saying the following:

“Here”S a Little known trivia fact.. I was hired onto Ghostbusters as a stuntwoman for 2 weeks. This was after F13 th 1 and 2.. I needed to make $$ for my Screen Actors Guild in order to keep my health insurance and I wasn’t interested in On-Camera work for obvious reasons.. my dear friend Tony Farentino

Here’s Why Alice Died So Quickly In Friday the 13th Part 2

Friday The 13th star Adrienne King has explained why her character Alice died so quickly in the 1981 sequel. The original Friday The 13th started life as a low-budget rip-off of Halloween, but thanks to some gruesome kills and a genuinely creepy atmosphere, it became a surprise success. The low cost/high return formula of the original convinced the studio to press ahead with a sequel, which had to overcome the tricky issue of the film’s killer – Pamela Voorhees – being quite dead by the end.

Well, if you fancy yourself a huge fan of the Friday the 13th film franchise, a unique opportunity has presented itself – but you’re probably going to have to act quickly.

As it turns out, the next public tour of Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco is set to go down on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14. In fact, one could say this is doubly special with it being a real location that’s still standing, as opposed to a backlot.

Friday The 13th Camp Tours to Feature Special Guest Adrienne King

  • DailyDead
It's known for being the birthplace of a horror franchise, but decades after it was the setting for the first Friday the 13th movie, the New Jersey camp where Mrs. Voorhees once worked has now become the Boy Scout hub known as No-Be-Bo-Sco. Usually not open to the public, Crystal Lake Tours will open up the camp's cozy, spooky confines to Friday the 13th fans for special tours featuring the original film's star Adrienne King, with a lucky select group even getting the chance to spend the night!

Original Friday the 13th Camp Is Offering an Overnight Experience
If you're a die-hard Friday the 13th fan, this may be a potential dream come true for you. Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, an active Boy Scouts camp located in New Jersey, is the actual camp that was used in the original Friday the 13th as Camp Crystal Lake. On occasion, the camp offers fans the chance to take tours on an actual Friday the 13th, which is, in itself, pretty cool. However, this April, they're giving fans the chance to camp overnight at the real-life Camp Crystal Lake for the first time ever.

The catch is, there's a very high-demand for an experience such as this. To make the experience of staying the night at the place where Friday the 13th was filmed even more appealing, Adrienne King, one of the stars of the movie, will be on hand at the event. So, how does one get the chance to stay overnight

Graphic Nature: “Ghoulish” Gary Pullin on Creating the Friday The 13th Part 3 Vinyl Soundtrack Artwork for Waxwork Records

Capitalizing on the brief fad of Reagan-era 3D movies, Steve Miner’s Friday the 13th Part 3 continues Jason’s manic journey across the blood-soaked grounds surrounding Crystal Lake. Acclaimed and revered by some fans more than the film itself, Harry Manfredini’s score fashions some of the most chilling, daring, and skillfully orchestrated music ever composed for the horror genre. Stalking the vaults of Paramount Pictures, Waxwork Records faithfully restored both Manfredini’s master tapes as well as the vintage 3D aesthetic of the film by commissioning the iconic horror artist "Ghoulish" Gary Pullin to carve out the vicious visual illusion that brought a new dimension of terror to the turntable.

Reflecting back upon his strong history with the Friday the 13th franchise, Pullin notes, “I love the Friday films, they’re always a lot of fun to revisit. I think Manfredini’s score is essential to the series,

Blu-ray Review – The Initiation (1984)

The Initiation, 1984.

Directed by Larry Stewart.

Starring Daphne Zuniga, Clu Gulager, Vera Miles, James Read, Marilyn Kagan.

When a college prank goes wrong a group of teenage girls find themselves at the mercy of a killer.

Originally released during the dying breaths of the first run of slasher films, The Initiation is a film that ticks all the boxes as far as slashers go but doesn’t do enough to raise the bar in any way, and seeing as this came out a month after Wes Craven’s groundbreaking A Nightmare on Elm Street changed the horror landscape forever it does look a little old hat when put up against that film and the Friday the 13th sequels that were proving popular at the time.

Kelly Fairchild (Daphne ZunigaThe Fly II) is a teenage student who suffers from bad dreams about a man on fire attacking her parents.

‘Tales of Poe’ Review

Stars: Caroline Williams, Debbie Rochon, Adrienne King, Amy Steel, Randy Jones, Desiree Gould, Lesleh Donaldson, Alan Rowe Kelly, Brewster McCall, Michael Varrati, Andrew Glaszek, Susan Adriensen, Bette Cassatt | Written by Alan Rowe Kelly, Bart Mastronardi, Michael Varrati | Directed by Alan Rowe Kelly, Bart Mastronardi

It’s something of an understatement to say that the work of poet and short story writer Edgar Allan Poe has had a lasting effect on the horror genre. Especially when it comes to horror cinema in particular. It’s not so long ago that we had the likes of P.O.E.: Poetry of Eerie and it’s sequel Project of Evil, David DeCoteaus’s The Pit and the Pendulum, and the animated anthology Extraordinary Tales; and now comes Tales of Poe – which adapts Poe’s short stories The Tell Tale Heart, Cask of Amontillado and Dreams.

The first story, The Tell Tale Heart,

Review: Tales Of Poe is a Unique Take on the Master of Macabre’s Written Works

  • DailyDead
In the history of the horror genre, there has been no shortage of movies adapted from the great Edgar Allan Poe. From the classic 1935 Universal adaptation of “The Raven," to the brilliant gothic Roger Corman/Vincent Price collaborations of the 1960s, and even through Stuart Gordon’s 1991 filming of “The Pit and the Pendulum” for Full Moon Features, there’s not a corner of horror that hasn’t been touched by the works of Poe. This makes any new adaptation of the author’s work challenging, though, because so many horror fans may carry a “been there, seen that” mentality towards the umpteenth retelling of “The Tell-Tale Heart.” It is to the credit of directors Bart Mastronardi and Alan Rowe Kelly that their new anthology, aptly titled Tales of Poe, offers a new spin on an author whose work has been brought to the screen for nearly 100 years.

DVD Review – Tales of Poe (2014)

Tales of Poe, 2014.

Directed by Bart Mastronardi, Alan Rowe Kelly

Starring Caroline Williams, Debbie Rochon, Adrienne King, Amy Steel, Alan Rowe Kelly, Brewster McCall, Randy Jones.

An anthology film based on three of Edgar Allen Poe’s popular stories The Tell Tale Heart, Cask of Amontillado and Dreams.

Anthology films are well loved among horror aficionados, with the technique of bringing short stories out in segmented films stretching back to the very start of cinema. Edgar Allen Poe readers have been well served in the past, with 1962’s Tales of Terror striking that vital spot somewhere between black comedy and horror wonderfully well.

This film from Mastronardi and Kelly also manages to pull off the difficult trick of providing out and out bloody horror alongside a thoughtful and wryly humorous take on three of the master storyteller’s works.

Opening the show is an exquisitely grim retelling of possibly

From Camp Crystal Lake to the Vineyard: An Interview with Adrienne King

[Editor’s Note: Our own Scott Drebit recently hosted panels at the sixth annual Calgary Horror Con. At the three-day event, Scott caught up with Adrienne King, who discussed playing the first final girl in the Friday the 13th franchise, her interest in painting, returning to acting, and teaming up with Valley View to create Crystal Lake Wines.]

Hi Adrienne, thanks for sitting down with Daily Dead. I’d like to start off with Friday the 13th. It’s always been my belief that Halloween is unique and an anomaly, and that Friday the 13th really set the tone for the slashers that followed.

Adrienne King: I think so, too. In terms of women not being victims, or a woman being the killer, it hadn’t really been done before. And sometimes I think about if it was accidentally empowering women, or if they just wanted to do something that had a twist. And who would have ever guessed that the killer could have been a woman? A sweet lady, too, Betsy Palmer. No one saw that coming.

My generation really didn’t know Betsy Palmer. But when my parents saw her on the screen, they were like, “Oh my god! Betsy Palmer is the killer!” They

Interview: Calgary Horror Con Founder Dan Doherty on 6th Year of Celebrating Scares in Canada

[Editor’s Note: Our own Scott Drebit will be hosting panels this weekend at the sixth annual Calgary Horror Con. Ahead of the three-day event, Scott caught up with the convention’s CEO and founder, Dan Doherty, to discuss what sparked his love of the genre, the convention’s origin, this year’s special guest lineup, and more.]

Dan, let’s start at the start. When did you first get into horror?

Dan Doherty: I’ve been into horror since I was a kid—I’m not sure of the exact age. For me, it was a way to test my bravery. I was bullied a bit growing up, and it was a way to test it from a safe distance. And then after a while, it just becomes an adrenaline rush; you immerse yourself in a good horror film, but there isn’t much that scares me these days other than public washrooms [laughs]. I can remember watching C.H.U.D. when I was fairly young, maybe ten, but I’m not sure if that was the first. All I know is that once I was introduced to horror, I was hooked.

That seems to be the case with pretty much everyone—once you’re in,
