‘Documentary Now!’ To Tackle Sondheim, Stritch & The Ladies Who Lunch

IFC’s Documentary Now! will take on Sondheim, Stritch and the ladies who lunch in a 2019 episode parodying D.A. Pennebaker’s classic making-of Company documentary.

The episode, called “Original Cast Album: Co-Op”, will chronicle the recording of a cast album for the fictional musical Co-Op. Taran Killam, John Mulaney and James Urbaniak play producers overseeing the recording for the cast album.

Alex Brightman (Broadway’s School of Rock), Richard Kind, Paula Pell and Renee Elise Goldsberry (Broadway’s Hamilton) play the stars of Co-Op.

The highlight of the film was Elaine Stritch’s monumentally dramatic attempts to finish and perfect her performance of “The Ladies Who Lunch”, a song that would become her signature.

Appreciating the Incredible Voice Acting Work of Richard Kind

Richard Kind has that type of voice that you just don’t forget as soon as you hear it. He can be a fun and witty character or he can put a little extra oomph into his voice and become the annoying, irritating pest that you really hope gets dealt with eventually. Either way he’s golden when it comes to acting since he’s one of those actors that makes you feel that he’s not a really good, bad, or particularly wise character when he’s playing them, but is altogether entertaining. His voice roles have been some of his best stuff to

George Clooney AFI Tribute: Cate Blanchett, Laura Dern, and More Celebrate (and Tease) the Prankster Actor

George Clooney AFI Tribute: Cate Blanchett, Laura Dern, and More Celebrate (and Tease) the Prankster Actor
Last year’s AFI Life Achievement Award winner Diane Keaton cooed over George Clooney’s 18-year relationship with a pig. Laura Dern recalled being stranded in Budapest on their first movie, the never-released “Grizzly II: The Predator,” waiting for plane tickets home. Julianna Margulies thanked Clooney, who just turned 57, for tipping her that her “E.R.” character tested well enough to possibly come back to life, something she did not hear from her own agent.

“You’re the real deal,” she said, choking up, reminding the black-tie crowd that “E.R” arrived after 13 failed pilots. “The most important lessons I learned in this town I learned from George.” Richard Kind described George’s foundation as “the boys,” a motley crew that has hung together for three decades and were led by Clooney — before “E.R.” hit — to spend three days cleaning up East L.A. after the riots.

Why Julia Roberts Missed George Clooney's AFI Life Achievement Award Ceremony

Why Julia Roberts Missed George Clooney's AFI Life Achievement Award Ceremony
George Clooney was the toast of the town Thursday. The 57-year-old actor and director was honored at the American Film Institute's 2018 Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute, where everyone from Jennifer Aniston to Ivan Reitman came out to support their friend. Many of Clooney's former co-stars, including Don Cheadle, Anna Kendrick, Richard Kind and Juliana Margulies and Bill Murray, also toasted the actor inside the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. However, one person was notably M.I.A.: Julia Roberts. On May 30, AFI announced the 50-year-old actress would present her longtime friend and frequent co-star with his award. However, a spokesperson for AFI told E! News Thursday night, "Julia Roberts is regretfully...

George Clooney Receives 46th AFI Life Achievement Award In A Night Where Wife Amal Stole The Show

George Clooney Receives 46th AFI Life Achievement Award In A Night Where Wife Amal Stole The Show
Presenter of the 46th Annual American Film Institute Life Achievement Award Shirley MacLaine told recipient George Clooney on Thursday night at the Dolby Theatre gala that ,yes, maybe he was too young to get a “lifetime achievement award” but that she observed he was a very “old soul” so it was okay. As someone who has purported to have several lifetimes of achievement (including the 2012 AFI Honor) we should listen to her.

Clooney just turned 57 last month but he is more than deserving having already packed an impressive career on TV and in movies in this lifetime , but also becoming one of our great humanitarians engaging the philosophy that one of the evening’s on- stage participants Don Cheadle reiterated, “if they are going to put the cameras on me, I am going to put the cameras on them” referring to those far less fortunate suffering in Sudan and around the world.

Barack Obama, Miley Cyrus and Bill Murray Toast AFI Honoree George Clooney
Hollywood’s elite turned out Thursday night at the Dolby Theatre, home of the Oscars, to pay tribute to George Clooney, this year’s American Film Institute Life Achievement Award recipient. Faces in the crowd included Netflix’s Ted Sarandos, CBSLeslie Moonves and Paramount’s Jim Gianopulos, just to name a few.

Diane Keaton, last year’s AFI honoree, took the stage early to marvel at Clooney’s distant relationship with former president Abraham Lincoln and rib him over that “Killer Tomatoes” sequel he’s never quite lived down. Laura Dern remembered cutting her teeth with Clooney in failed horror project “Grizzly II: The Concert.” Jimmy Kimmel, returning to the Dolby stage for the first time since the 90th annual Academy Awards in March, regaled with stories of “rascal” Clooney’s infamous practical jokes, which have apparently included sending packages to Brad Pitt labeled “the porn that you ordered.

George Clooney: Looking Back on the ‘Extremely Normal’ Man’s Extraordinary Career
In 1994 a little show called “ER” premiered on NBC. Created by prolific science-fiction writer Michael Crichton, the series was a medical drama, somewhat in the tradition of “St. Elsewhere,” and focused on the private lives and burgeoning careers of emergency room doctors in Chicago’s County General Hospital. Among the cast members were Anthony Edwards, of “Top Gun” fame, up-and-comers Julianna Margulies and Noah Wyle, and George Clooney, a relatively unknown actor from Kentucky with a smattering of TV credits to his name, including recurring roles on “Roseanne,” the short-lived CBS comedy “E/R” and “The Facts of Life,” on which Clooney played the eponymous “George,” a charismatic handyman with winged hair who eventually quits his job to go on tour with pop star Cinnamon (played by ’90s singer Stacey Q).

ER” became a giant hit, winning numerous Emmy awards, with Clooney its resident heartthrob. If you were in college at the time,
