Brent Joseph is an award-winning writer, director & editor. His most recent film, "Beirut on the Bayou," tells the story of his Lebanese family who worked as peddlers in South Louisiana's Cajun communities during the early 20th century. In "Holdout" and "A Loud Color," Brent created two unique portraits of his hometown of New Orleans as residents grappled with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

His work includes, "Bullfrogs," a transgressive re-telling of the damsel-in-distress story, filmed on 16mm black & white in the Louisiana swamp. "Mirza the Miraculous," a sci-fi film shot in the desert mountains of West Texas, incorporates kaleidoscopic lo-fi-visuals and an analog electronic score by Quintron. Brent's films have screened at numerous festivals, museums and universities from Los Angeles to Paris including: AFI, Full Frame, Rooftop Films, NewFest, Slamdance and the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University.

As an editor, Brent learned his craft by working as an assistant in the cutting rooms of David Fincher, Seth Rogen, and Larry Clark before collaborating as an editor on several features & TV episodes including: "Queen of Paradis" (Excellence in Documentary Feature Editing, Ashland Film Festival), "Five Time Champion" (SXSW), "Shell Shocked" (PBS), and MTV's "True Life: I'm Living in Iraq" (Edward R. Murrow award for Best TV Network News Documentary).
