    During the Australian tri-series in 1991-92, Jones controversially asked legendary fast bowler Curtly Ambrose to remove his signature wrist bands when the latter was taking his run up. Although Ambrose complied after much discussion, he also ended taking match winning figures of 5-32. Jones later regretted the incident.
