Sophie Turner to star in Girl Who Fell From the Sky

Game of Thrones and X-Men star Sophie Turner has signed on to produce and star in Girl Who Fell From the Sky, an adaptation of Juliane Koepcke’s book When I Fell From the Sky, which is being written and directed by Stan Brooks (Perfect Sisters).

The film will see Turner playing Koepcke, a 17-year-old girl who was traveling on a flight to Peru with her mother on Christmas Eve in 1971 when the plane was struck by lightning. The plane was incinerated, and Koepcke was ejected from the wreckage, falling 10,000 feet still strapped to her seat with the canopy of the Amazon rain forest breaking her fall and saving her life. She then endured an 11-day fight for survival in the treacherous Amazon jungle, hundreds of miles from civilization.

Turner and Brooks will produce the film with Jim Seibel and Bill Johnson, co-chairmen of Lotus Entertainment and executive producers on The Grey.

"Painkiller Jane" - Enter Jessica Chastain

According to new reports, actress Jessica Chastain who is interested in the part of 'Poison Ivy' for director David Ayer's "Gotham City Sirens", is confirmed to star and produce a fresh adaptation of the comic book series "Painkiller Jane":

Additional producers include Lenny Beckerman of Lotus Entertainment and Stephen L’Heureux from Solipsist Films. Executive producers include Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, Ara Keshishian and "Painkiller Jane" creator Jimmy Palmiotti.

Created by Palmiotti and Joe Quesada for Event Comics in 1995 in a five-issue Event Comics mini-series, the character also appeared alongside the 'Punisher', 'Vampirella' and 'Hellboy'. Recently, the series relaunched at Dynamite Entertainment.

Jessica Chastain Lined Up for Lead Role in Painkiller Jane Film Adaptation

Coming close to death gave her the power to be unstoppable. New York City police officer Jane Vasko was nearly killed while undercover, but she bounced back as the vengeful Painkiller Jane in the comic book series of the same name. While a film adaptation has been in the works for quite some time, it now looks like Jessica Chastain will bring the lead role to life.

Deadline reports that Chastain is set to produce and play the starring role in Painkiller Jane. Producing the project alongside Chastain's Freckle Films will be Lotus Entertainment and Solipsist Films, with Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, Ara Keshishian and Jimmy Palmiotti on board as executive producers (Palmiotti also co-wrote the comic book series with Joe Quesada).

Principal photography has got underway on the sci-fi thriller starring Keanu Reeves and Alice Eve as it emerged that London and La-based Riverstone Pictures will co-finance with Remstar Studios.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Stephen Hamel are producing with Reeves, Mark Gao and Luis Riefkohl, while Lotus Entertainment handles worldwide sales.

Jeffrey Nachmanov is directing Replicas, about a daring neuroscientist who will stop at nothing to bring back his family after a fatal car wreck.

Riverstone is backed by Reliance Entertainment and Ingenious Media and co-founders Nik Bower and Deepak Nayar join the executive producer roster alongside Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel for Lotus, Remstar’s Maxime Remillard and Clark Peterson, and Walter Josten of Blue Rider, Erik Howsam of Di Bonaventura Pictures and James Dodson.

"Taken" Helmer Hits A "Big Stone Grid"

"Taken" director Pierre Morel has come on board to helm the hard-edged cop thriller "Big Stone Grid" with plans to shoot the project next year.

The story follows two decorated detectives who uncover a terrifying extortion ring of serial killers that operates within the secret underbelly of New York. Morel will direct from a script by "Bone Tomahawk" writer S. Craig Zahler.

The project was previously setup at Sony Pictures with Michael De Luca producing and, at one time, had Michael Mann in talks to direct and do a script polish. That didn't come together and now Lotus Entertainment has picked it up after the property went into turnaround.

Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, Ara Keshishian, Adam Fields and Josh Bratman are producing.

Lotus Entertainment has reported a resounding response to its upcoming sci-fi thriller Replicas starring Keanu Reeves set to begin production on July 18.

Reeves will star in and produce with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Company FilmsStephen Hamel, Fundamental FilmsMark Gao and Ocean Park Entertainment’s Luis Riefkohl.

CAA handles Us rights to the story of a neuroscientist desperate to bring back his family after a car accident. Jeffrey Nachmanoff will direct from a screenplay by Chad St John.

Lotus Entertainment’s Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel and Ara Keshishian serve as executive producers with Remstar Studios’ Maxime Remillard and Clarke Peterson, and Walter Josten of Blue Rider Pictures.

The action takes place over the Christmas period in 1960s Chicago as a stranger named Silence saves a man’s life during a riot.

Ant-Man” actor Paul Rudd and “True Blood” actor Alexander Skarsgard are set to star in director Duncan Jones (“Moon”, “Warcraft”) next feature film, "Mute." The film is set in Berlin, Germany in the future during an Eastern versus Western civil war and features Skarsgard as Leo Beiler, a mute bartender, who tries to find the love of his life in the midst of the war.

Paul Rudd (Ant-man) will be joined by Alexander Skarsgard (Tarzan, True Blood) in the title role, for the sci-fi thriller Mute, which will be directed by BAFTA-winning director Duncan Jones (Warcraft, Source Code, Moon).

Mute is based on a script by Jones and Mike Johnson and will be produced by Stuart Fenegan under Jones and Fenegan’s Liberty Films banner. Lotus Entertainment has come on board to handle international sales starting at the upcoming Afm. CAA who arranged for the financing is handling the domestic sale.

Duncan Jones will direct Paul Rudd and Alexander Skarsgard in the sci-fi thriller he has waited 12 years to make.

Lotus Entertainment will begin sales at the Afm on the project, which is set in a tumultuous Berlin 40 years from now overrun by immigrants where a mute bartender encounters an odd pair of American surgeons in his search for his missing love.

Jones and Mike Johnson wrote the screenplay to Mute and Stuart Fenegan produces under the Liberty Films label he runs with Jones.

The 2014 Screen International UK Star of Tomorrow has joined the supernatural thriller from genre master Xavier Gens that commenced shooting in Romania on Monday.

Motion Picture Capital will fully finance and produce The Crucifixion alongside Peter Safran and Lotus Entertainment, which also handles international sales.

Chad and Carey Hayes (The Conjuring) wrote the screenplay about an investigation into whether a priest murdered a mentally ill nun or lost the battle with a demonic presence.

Janet McTeer joins 'The Kaiser's Last Kiss'

Janet McTeer, Eddie Marsan and Ben Daniels have joined Film House Germany / Egoli Tossell Film’s WWII spy drama. Lotus Entertainment handles international sales.

David Leveaux directs the previously announced Lily James, Jai Courtney and Christopher Plummer, the star of Film House Germany / Egoli Tossell Film’s Remember that went down well in Venice and receives its North American premiere tonight [Sept 12].

Silver Reel has come on to finance the film, which has begun shooting in Belgium.
