Fright Night

Why does Fright Night, the 1985 vampire teen horror-comedy curio, endure as a great movie long past its expected sell-by date? Because writer/director Tom Holland’s Fright Night extends its core subject matter, vampiric transformation, into a studied allegory for the painful, violent uncertainty of adolescence. And because it unflinchingly tackles the two underlying themes at the core of the best horror fodder: sex and death. In the spirit of Halloween, this writer wanted to tackle one of his favorite ’80s creature features. So welcome to the first Tfh review of Fright Night… for real.

Let’s quickly cover the pitch. Devout teen cinephile Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale), his girlfriend Amy (Amanda Bearse) and their odd-duck third wheel high school colleague “Evil” Ed (Stephen Geoffreys) all tackle severe self-doubt, that most teenage of impulses, as they combat Charley’s new next-door neighbor, the elegant, supremely confident apple aficionado Jerry Dandrige

With Judi Evans (Adrienne) reprising her role of Bonnie Lockhart on Days Of Our Lives, some newer fans may be wondering who the heck this wild woman is! The character was introduced in 2000 and was also played by Robin Riker and Kathy Connell before Evans took over in 2003. Bonnie has three children, Mimi (played by Farah Fath), Patrick (played by Brody Hutzler), and Conner. Bonnie was introduced as a single mother who was willing to scheme and lie in order to get what she wants, just so long as she doesn’t have to put in too much effort. She’s always been jealous of the wealthier families in Salem, like the Bradys, Hortons, and Dimeras. So she was thrilled when she finally got Mickey Horton to propose to her! Days of Our Lives Round Table: Steve's Off-Screen Exit!

  • TVfanatic
Steve Johnson was supposedly arrested off-screen and hauled off to Washington D.C., while Will decided to ditch Paul for Sonny, and everyone in Salem except the Salem Pd ended up finding Kristen!

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Tinab and Tony from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Steve Johnson’s lackluster sendoff, if Will should tell Paul the truth, are Lani and Eli meant to be a couple, and whether Bonnie really gave birth to Lucas’ child on Days of Our Lives.

Actor Stephen Nichols exited Days of Our Lives. How do you feel about Steve Johnson’s off-screen send-off?

Tony: I feel it was horrible! An insult to the fans and the actor.

The powers that be knew that Stephen Nichols’ contract was coming up, and it sounds like Stephen was willing to negotiate when they weren’t,

What Happened to Jack Deveraux on Days Of Our Lives

It’s been a while since Jack Deveraux has appeared on Days Of Our Lives, so newer fans can be forgiven for wondering exactly who the guy is. He’s certainly been through the ringer, going from villain to hero and dying multiple times along the way! Jack was introduced in 1987 and played briefly by Joseph Adams and James Acheson before Matthew Ashford took over the role in October. The role was recast twice more over the years with Mark Valley and Steve Wilder stepping in for stints, but it’s Ashford who is most closely associated with the role and who has taken it back again this time. Jack came to Salem looking for Kayla Brady, with whom he’d fallen in love a few years back. She was with Steve Johnson, but he pushed her towards Jack once he learned that not only was the guy suffering from

10 Facts About Predator You Never Knew

10 Facts About Predator You Never Knew
"If it bleeds, we can kill it." It was a rumble in the jungle between a muscle bound paramilitary team and one ugly alien. Cover yourself in mud, cause we're talking about Predator. Here we'll take a look at 10 things you never knew about Predator.

Call me the hunter.

The first Predator was originally called Hunter until after production was completed. In the DVD commentary, director John McTiernan says Predator was originally pitched as Rocky vs. Alien, 'though he personally saw it as more like King Kong. In the 2001 short documentary "If It Bleeds We Can Kill It: The Making of Predator", brothers Jim and John Thomas said they got their script idea from a joke about Rocky IV. The gag was that Rocky had no one left to fight, so he may as well fight an alien.

The original Predator.
