Young newcomer leads cast of new ITV drama Him

Filming is underway on a new ITV supernatural drama Him, which focuses on life’s major themes: the painful breakdown of relationships, love, loss, betrayal and passion. At the heart of the story is Him’s rite of passage from boyhood to manhood as he struggles not to lose his humanity and control his supernatural power.

Newcomer Fionn Whitehead stars as a 17-year-old boy, known only in the drama as Him. Fionn (represented by Curtis Brown) is a member of the National Youth Theatre and this is his first screen role.

Him is caught in the limbo between childhood and adulthood. But he’s also trapped in a limbo between the two homes of his divorced parents, mum Hannah, played by Katherine Kelly and dad Edward played by James Murray, each now remarried with new families.

Game of Thrones meets Doctor Who, Torchwood and Tron at NEC's Winter Memorabilia

The Celebrity line-up has been announced for this month's Winter Memorabilia Show at the NEC, near Birmingham.

Movie stars, TV personalities and sporting legends will be meeting fans and giving autographs at the UK convention.

Game of Thrones actors Finn Jones, Roxanne McKee, James Cosmo (above), Miltos Yerolemou (below) and Spencer Wilding will be among those in attendance - and they're bringing the hit fantasy series' iconic Iron Throne along with them.

James Cosmo (Braveheart, Highlander) plays Jeor Mormont, the 997th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch and the estranged father of Ser Jorah, while Roxanne McKee (Hollyoaks) plays Doreah, a handmaid and companion of Daenerys Targaryen who schools the young princess in the art of love.

Attending Memorabilia on November 19 only, Finn Jones plays the handsome Ser Loras Tyrell, a champion jouster known as the Knight of Flowers.

Playing the Queen brought Helen Mirren international fame and enough awards to fill a trophy room. Now five more British actors are taking on the role in a new Channel 4 documentary drama series.

The Queen, a five-part series starting next Sunday, focuses on crisis moments since the 1953 coronation. Emilia Fox stars in the first episode, centred around events in 1955 when Princess Margaret was considering marriage to a divorced equerry, Peter Townsend. Samantha Bond, best known as Miss Moneypenny in the Bond films, plays her during the early 1970s era of power cuts, strikes and Ira threats. Susan Jameson portrays her in conflict with Margaret Thatcher over the South Africa sanctions row that threatened the Commonwealth.

Queen documentary heads up C4 season

Channel 4 will screen a new drama documentary series about Queen Elizabeth II as part of its Autumn season. The Queen, which focuses on landmarks in the reign of Her Majesty, will see five different British actress take on the role. Pivotal moments in her life will be played out by Emilia Fox, Samantha Bond, Susan Jameson, Barbara Flynn and Diana Quick. Also forming part of the new season is Derren Brown: The Events, which will invite viewers at home to interact and participate as the magician aims to trick, win, fool and control through various complex acts. Brown will also participate in Channel 4's 3-D programming week with his special programme Derren Brown's 3D Magic Spectacular. Queen Elizabeth To Be Played By Emilia Fox In New TV Drama

Britain's Queen Elizabeth is set to be played by Emilia Fox in a new TV drama. The actress will be one of five stars take on the role of the 83-year-old monarch in the Channel 4 series, which will document recent social history through the eyes of the British royal family.

Fox will portray the queen in 1955, just after her coronation and around the time the affair her sister Princess Margaret had with Group Captain Peter Townsend was revealed.

Former James Bond star Samantha Bond will play the queen in the second program, which will feature the Ira threats in the early 70s and a kidnap attempt on her daughter Princess Anne.

The third show will document the queen's view on former prime minister Margaret Thatcher and the role of the monarch will be played by "New Tricks" star Susan Jameson.
